I don’t get home for the longest time that night. I just ride off under the disguise of darkness, my mind drifting to everything that happened. The rev of the engine tears through the nocturnal silence and makes me feel like I am the only living person left on this planet. The sound is both angry and longing in my ears and this perfectly matches the way I feel.
Ava has called like five times already and as I finally stop by the road crossing the large St. Claire property, so close and so far away from Valentine manor, I finally decide to reply to her. Yeah, I don’t really want her right now, but it’s not like I can actually have the one I want, plus Ava wants me for my body and my status and there are no mixed signals with her.
