Veronica The blood freezes in my veins the moment Genevieve’s icy gaze lands on me. The light from the guard’s booth is casting harsh yellowish hues over her face and she looks like she is made of wax - perfectly frozen in a storm of rage. I can see her nostril flaring, and the perfect facade of the dowager queen of the lycans is gone for a second. “Where have you been?” She asks in a low voice, and I know I am in deep trouble. Suddenly the reality of my situation hits me hard, and my heart skips a beat. How could I be this stupid? I left this morning, with my car, with the perfect intention of coming back. But then I fell apart in front of the son of my pack’s greatest enemy, without saying a word. It is almost nine p.m. and I come back walking, looking like I did exactly what I did -
