I sit across from Luca in front of the principal’s office and feel like a fool, while coach explains the situation to Mr. Dunham. How did things escalate this much is beyond me, and now I don’t know how to fix it. Luca doesn’t peel his eyes off me and I imagine how good it would be if I could shriek, or if the ground tore up and swallowed me whole.
