Chapter 18

1570 Words
The moment that I saw Valour and other people from different gangs, I immediately envisioned what will be happening. The gangs will move on their own; this is not about helping each other anymore—this is about saving your groupmates and not minding others save their own businesses. I may look like an evil monster here because of saying that thing, and thinking that way, but I know that it will happen. Perhaps, even Jerross and Solomon were also thinking to save only their group member, and forget the others. Faith will decide everything, I guess. I was telling what I think would ‘probably’ happen. Because looking at the demonic insects waiting for us, the act of saving our member is also an act of attempting suicide. Because we already know that those creatures were deadly, and yet, we’re still about to charge to them. That is why, if one has an opportunity to save their member, he or she will do it, but would hesitate to save others. Because bullshit, second attempt of killing your life is something that you don’t want to happen. I tell you. “Everyone’s ready?” Solomon asked. No one answered. Even me. However, even though I wasn’t looking at the others, I can still sense their sheer determination to save their members. Just like me, even though they did not answer, were releasing an aura of extreme focus and courage. Solomon must have sensed that kind of aura too, that is why he said, “charge!” And with that, everyone, as if we’re on a damn war movie, has made a courageous war cry as we all ran and charge towards the forest of bees and hornets. In reply, the bees started to buzz loudly, and as if they understood what was about to happen, they also charged towards us, needled stings all pointed and ready to be stabbed into our vulnerable bodies. “But I won’t let you!” I muttered. With a pull of courage over from the deepest slot of my chest, I started to jump. I clung to one of the legs of the bee I caught. Luckily, it was a blindspot for it to stab me with its needle stings. I kept on clinging to its legs despite the fact that I know I am already being dragged into the air. This is the battle of surviving humans versus demon bees. And I want to show them that even though their domain is the air, I could last to it, and slap on their faces that I’m one terrible survivor whom they could not easily kill. The bee was dancing in the air with a pretty shaky pace, letting me know that I am not welcome on parts of its body, and that I should get rid off, dead. But as an innately stubborn, I shouted, “just let me f*****g clung on your body so I could f*****g kill you!” And when I found the perfect timing, the perfect force, the perfect movement of the bee, I swung my body upwards, released the grip on the bee’s leg, and perfectly landed on its back. “Yeah!” I screamed. “Time for some demon bee back riding!” Without any hesitation, I quickly grabbed the antennas of the demon bee which was located at its head. As I pulled it, the bee has started to release a wild shrill of pain sound. I never knew that huge bees like this could scream like of other beasts. I thought, all they could do was just to buzz non-stop. Now, I struggled to control the flying of the bee. It would resist on letting me control its body, but I was too eager to use this method to save Valour. “Bullshit! Just let me control your f*****g body and we’re all done!” Finally, after a single minute of trial and error, I quickly adapt on how this bee shall be controlled. With a smile, I started to immediately head towards where Valour was cocooned. But damn, these bees weren’t in hell for no reasons. Despite the fact that it was their comrade, they did not hesitate to wield their needle stings towards me, not minding if whether this one I am riding will be dead as hell as well. When I realize that the bees are really gritting their teeth (if they have; I don’t think they do) to kill me even though they will kill other of their comrades, I immediately jumped away to my supposed to be demon-winged ride. That’s kind of unfortunate. I landed to another bee, but instead of using it as a ride, I decided not to. I might be dead if I would just lay my body at the back of the bee and ride it as if I am just strolling to a certain hacienda. Instead, I quickly wield one of my jade knife and before I could jump to another bee once again, I slashed its neck. Two bees simultaneously fell down the ground, lifeless—one was stabbed by the stinger of another bee, one was slashed on the neck. But two dead bees were nothing compared to hundred bees that was in here, right? When I landed at another bee, I did the same, and slashed its neck. I quickly jumped towards another, but before I could land, there was a needled stinger from another bee that was about to welcome my chest with a swift impact. Luckily, I quickly moved. Before the needled stinger be buried on my chest, I deflected it with one of my jade knives. That’s when I discover too that their stings maybe sharp at its tip, but it can be easily sliced like cake in a birthday party. When I landed on the back of another bee, I quickly used my force to jump once again, and s***h the body of the bee who attempted to welcome me with its sting. It screeched as I sliced it, and I am sure it would be dead in no less than seconds. I landed back again to another bee, but it must be aware of what I am doing, because it immediately flew in a shaky pace. Me being kind of bad in balancing, was standing at the back of the bee and when it became shaky, I have fell helplessly. “Damn it!” I cursed. But then, when falling, I noticed something: I am near the honey-cocooned Valour. Half a meter of the height where I came falling, Valour was below me. And I might be kind of weird to say this, but I have thought of how I am near in saving Valour rather than how rapid I was while falling to the ground. I saw a bee coming towards me. I prepared myself. A few meters below me is where Valour could be found. But the bee was charging towards me with its needle stings. Now, I made a good timing kicking its thorax. Luckily, I did. Before the sting of the be could bury on my chest, I managed to kick its thorax, and because of that, my body (and of the bee) was pushed, causing the needle sting not to reach me, and also making me neared to the spot where Valour is, while falling. This is it. I quickly grabbed my jade knives once again, and with a quick and strong s***h, the honey that makes Valour hanging below a hive was sharply sliced, and the cocooned Valour has fell downwards, together with me. Luckily, the height was low, and not enough to kill person inside a dewy cocoon. Luckily again, I fell on top of Valour which made me saved from breaking any bone in my body when I fell on the ground. I sighed. I immediately looked at the face of Valour. I checked whether is he is breathing or not, and I’m glad that he does. It’s just that … he’s unconscious. “Sitri!” not afar, I heard Gaston. Behind him was the Vulture gang. “Gaston! Help me!” I said, “Let’s get Valour out of this shitty cocoon!” “What the hell have you insanely done right there?! You’re mad!” he said to me when he neared. On his face was both concern and admiration. “What do you mean? Hey, I said help me with Valour!” I asked and demanded. I am trying my best to remove these things out of Valour’s body. Gaston helped me too, and the others. The others were watching the bees above. “I mean the way you saved Valour. That was insane and nerve-wracking! Do you know everyone’s worried with you?!” “Yeah? Insane or not insane, the main point is Valour is alive. And I have not died yet too,” I said. Still, I am scrambling away the hardened honey on Valour’s body. “Boss!” I heard one of the Vulture calling. “Yea?!” Gaston asked. “Why is it … this is weird,” he said. Me and Gaston quickly looked at the Vulture who said that something is weird. And yes, even though he would not tell, I already got it. “Why is it … the bees are attacking everyone else and us being left unharmed?”
