Wanna see my claws, babe?

It was about 5 AM when Michael slowed down and stopped before the gate. It opened instantly, and they parked in front of the garage. Jenny broke out of her thoughts and got out of the car. The house was not as big as she thought. Somehow she was imagining a huge mansion guarded by men in black suits. 'Probably too many movies' she thought, looking at a nice but simple house, resembling a little bit her family home. Front door opened and two women came out to greet them. One looked really worried and approached Hannah quickly. "Dear lord, Hannah..." she said, embracing her. Hannah signed and looked up, clearly trying to hold her tears. Woman hugged her even tighter and looked at Michael through the girl's shoulders. "Get inside children, you must be exhausted. Susan will lead you to the living room. We'll get her something for her nerves and get back to you". She said and still holding the sobbing girl she headed towards the house. Michael looked at Jenny and nodded at her. She followed the lady and went inside. Old maid guided them to the living room. Inside the house looked a little bit more rich but still she could not notice anything unusual. The room was decorated by many green, leafy plants. At the shelfs pictures of the family were telling her the usual story - the wedding, the child, his graduation. She noticed a big, antique cuckoo clock standing next to the bookshelf. She went closer to take a look. The maid entered the living room, holding a tray. "I made some tea. Please, drink it, that must have been an awful night for you!" she said. "Maybe I can get you something sweet? Or maybe you want something more meaty to eat?" she asked with care. Jenny shivered when she heard the word 'meaty'. "Maybe some sandwiches?" the maid continued and Jenny exhaled, shrugging her head. "Um.. Jenny.., are you hungry?" Michael asked, looking at her. She cleared her throat. "I'm good, thank you" she said and forced a smile looking back at the maid. "Oh my, sweetheart, you look so pale! I will bring some sandwiches, you need to eat!" she decided and left the room. "Are you fine?" asked Michael and handed her over a cup of hot tea. "You do look pale, you know..." "I'm okay. I guess.. it's just a lot to process", she replied and forced a smile again. "Sorry for Hannah. But in a situation like that..." "It's okay. Totally, I got it. I'm here, I do want to help." 'No you don't, because you can't' she thought at the same time. What could she do other than go to the police and tell them the whole story? Michael looked at her not convinced and was about to say something, but then they both looked at the room entrance as a man approached them. He tried to smile, but just as Jenny, he was not good at faking. "I see that Susan already took care of you. Good, good... Emma is with Hannah, trying to calm her down, poor girl.." he said and he held out his hand to Michael. "You must be her... friend. Steven May," he introduced himself. Michael looked at him like he was not sure for a second, but then he shook the man's hand. "Michael". As Michael seemed to be a little scared, Jenny actually felt a bit more confident. A man in his fifties, looking elegant and decent is what she needed to make sure this will all get sorted out. She smiled, this time truly, and held out her hand as the man turned to her. "Jenny", she said. "I study at the same University as Hannah. Do you know maybe if the police are already involved?" she asked, hoping that her gut feeling will not fail her. Mr. May raised his eyebrows. "Of course, of course... I already got in touch with our service when Emma called Hannah. For sure we will be hearing from them pretty soon.." he answered as he shook Jenny's hand. Then he looked at the girl with a confused face. "Jenny... who?" he asked and she suddenly did not feel so sure anymore looking at his weird reaction. "Umm... Jenny Harris." "Harris? Harris... Harris.. We don't have any Harris within our..." he wondered, but Michael interrupted him with a loud cough. "I don't think she knows, sir. Anything." Mr. May and Michael shared a look. "Susan made some sandwiches" Mrs. May's voice broke the short silence. "She is taking care for Hannah now. I gave her some sedative pills, that girl truly needs to rest..." she put the tray on the table. "Losing her parents at such a young age..." the woman sighed. She looked at both Michael and Jenny. "But for sure you need to rest as well! Do you want me to prepare rooms for you?" They both shook their heads. Michael looked at the plate with hunger in his eyes. Mr. May however, got back to looking at Jenny. Her smile faded. He also looked confused and was clearly not sure how to handle the situation. Everyone stood there silently for a while. "Why don't you sit, dear!" the woman said to Jenny, breaking the uncomfortable moment. "I'm Hannah's aunt, Emma. My husband already introduced himself I suppose." Jenny nodded and sat on the couch. "And you Steven, can you wake up, please? You look..." she started, but then gave up. "Oh just sit here with us. You want some tea?" Mr. May faced them finally and cleared his throat. "Can I... Can you follow me for a moment?" he asked, pointing out to the hall. Emma looked at him surprised. "Well, excuse us" she smiled at them and did as he wished. They left the room. That somehow made Michael more brave and he finally reached for a sandwich. Jenny looked at him with fear. "Am I in danger, Michael?" she whispered quickly. He tried to take the biggest bite he could and with his mouth full of, apparently, a great sandwich he answered. "I dunno." "What do you mean you don't know?!" she tried to keep it quiet. "You drove me here and they clearly have an issue with me! How can you not now!" Jenny gave him an angry face when he took another sandwich and almost swallowed it whole. Mr. and Mrs. May entered the room again, so Jenny tried to look like she was cool. Michael, on the other hand, almost choked when the sandwich tried to make its way down his throat. "Jenny, I know you must be tired, but there is one thing I want to talk to you about. Is this okay if you follow me to my office?" Emma asked, keeping the same concerned look on her face. Jenny felt a little hot. "Um.. Can I call someone first? My friend, she must be really worried..." she asked, feeling her hands are starting to get sweaty. "Oh, of course! The phone is in my office. Come and take your tea" the woman said. Jenny looked at Michael hoping he'll help her out but he was still occupied looking at the sandwiches. She had no other choice really. She stood up and slowly headed towards the hall. Emma led her inside the house corridor. They turned right and she opened the office door. "Come on in," she said. Jenny went inside the small office, and looked around. She heard the woman closed the door behind them and she could feel the shivers on her body. Emma touched her shoulder gently and pointed to a chair. "Oh please, sit. How are you feeling?" she asked as she took a sit on the chair behind the desk. Jenny sat down slowly. She had no idea how to answer this question. How did she feel actually? Scared? Confused? She felt like whatever she said might get her into trouble. But then, she is still alive. "Umm... I don't want to cause any trouble, really.." she said, trying to fake a smile again. The woman looked shocked. "Trouble? It seems like it is the other way, am I right?" she hesitated for a second. "Steven told me quite... unusual thing. And I can sense that he was right. Ha! You will be quite a revelation!" she smiled and made Jenny even more confused with that. 'Revelation?' she thought. "I don't want to scare you, Jenny. Can I call you Jenny?" she asked. Jenny only nodded her head. "I can feel you feel scared and confused. This is all perfectly fine. I want you to know that you are in good hands and under this roof nothing bad will happen to you. Okay?" Jenny nodded again. She was too afraid to say anything. The woman sighed. "This is all very... new. Did Hannah and Michael... talk to you?" she looked Jenny in the eye. The girl opened her mouth but then took her time to think. The elephant in this room was so big though that someone had to finally say it. And she could sense the woman wanted her to do it. She took a deep breath. "I.. Okay. You mean this whole werewolf story. Am I right Mrs. May?" she said and felt her heartbeat raised. She hoped in her mind that the woman would laugh at her but it did not happen. Mr. May looked only more concerned. "So they did tell you," she paused for a second. "And that was not very.. gentle, I suppose?" "Can you please tell me what this is all about?" Jennie could not stand this tension any longer. "Please". Mr. May looked at her in the eye again. "Well Jennie, it is true. We are not human. And you are just like us." Jennie felt frustrated. For some reason, the fear changed into anger as everything was getting more and more complicated. "And before you say anything," the woman continued. "I know this is not something you could easily believe. But did you never... did you really never realize it yourself?" "Of course not!" Jenny replied angrily. "I'm not..." "Okay, okay, you are right. I'm sorry. I don't think there is any other way than just giving you some... proof. Just please, remember, we are here for you." the woman said. "I haven't done this in a while, but I don't think my son would mind," she got up and headed to the door. "Let's go somewhere where we have more space. Susan?" she called to the hall. The old woman approached them quickly. "Can you please wake Johnny up and tell him to meet me in the garden?" The maid only nodded and headed upstairs. Jenny, still scared, angry and confused at the same time just followed Mrs. May to the back of the house. Fresh air calmed her down a bit but she was still not sure what was about to happen. They stood there in silence. Mrs. May tried to cheer her up with a smile but she was clearly not comfortable as well. After a few minutes, the back door opened and a young man came out. He looked confused, wearing his blue bathrobe with little ducks and his hair sticking in different directions. He yawned and squinted looking at Jenny. "Em. Who is that?" he asked, surprised but at the same time he did smile. "Hello," he said to Jenny with a goofy tone. "Johnny, this is Jenny. Could you please be so kind... and turn?" Mrs. May asked. "Eh?" "Oh just do it already. I will explain later." Jenny wanted to say something but the situation was so bizarre she actually had nothing to add. There she was, at 6 AM in the morning, standing in a garden of this crazy family, waiting for a guy - who she actually thought was somehow... attractive - to 'turn'. Young man looked at his mother and back at Jenny, smiling. "Is this an audition? Should I do it the sexy wa..." he started shaking his hips but Emma approached him and slapped him in the back of his head. "This is not funny, Johnny! Just do it!" "Okay, okay.." he said, taking his robe off. He did wear boxer shorts but Jenny looked away anyway. 'That's ridiculous..' the girl thought, but then she looked at the man again as his head started to get longer. She freeze and could feel her eyes widened as his hands changed and sharp, long claws appeared at the top of them. He was still standing but his legs were now much longer, stronger and covered with fur. She looked up at where she thought his head was, but now there was only a huge beast head, smiling at her with its long, wolf-like teeth. The scene would look like a horror movie one only if the werewolf did not wear boxer shorts with c******s print. Jenny once again looked at the scene and took a deep breath. "Oh f**k that!" she said and ran towards the house.
