Guns over teeth

“Who is chasing us?!” Jenny whispered loudly, struggling to take a breath. “Hush! f**k, I told you to hurry! They are already at this gate.” Hannah looked from behind the wall. “Are you happy now, Blondie?” Tall girl sighed and closed her eyes to focus. “Why don’t we go through the security office? They have the exit in there.” Hannah opened her eyes. “Lead the way” she said, pushing her gently away from the wall. Jenny nodded her head and turned around, trying to take her steps as quietly as she could. The security office was nearby, right behind the computer labs. When she worked on her projects till night, she would usually sneak off the campus to buy soda at the 24 hours shop on the next street. That was her favourite exit as she didn’t have to go around half of the campus. And the security guard would be always asleep in his monitoring room, leaving the entrance open. They sneaked through the path, hiding behind the bushes. Jenny could hear men talking to each other. It seemed odd that they could threaten them here, since the object was monitored. By the sleeping, old guard. “Well, maybe not that odd” Jenny thought and jumped behind the building in which computer labs were placed. “Do you think he’s asleep?” “He usually is...” she turned around, hearing someone approach. Her senses became sensitive to everything like never before. She felt her pupils expand but had no time to be surprised since the fear became almost painful. “Hurry Blondie!” They rushed to the wooden door in a small security building that stood between the bushes. Jenny gently pressed the door handle. It was open. The place was empty, only a small desk stood right next to the window. The footsteps outside became louder. They runned through the room and came out of the campus. Jenny sighed with relief, but Hannah grabbed her hand and pulled her across the street. “It won’t take them long to track us, come on!” The street was almost empty, with a couple of drunk people standing by the 24-hr store. They looked at them amused, laughing loudly. Jenny and Hannah runned down the alley, heading towards the main street. “My boyfriend should pick us up here” said Hannah as they turned right to blend with people standing by the bus station. Jenny could sense something. It was almost like hearing someone walking in her direction but not with her ears, with her whole body. She looked down and turned to Hannah. “I can feel them coming. Why do I..” “Easy” Hannah whispered. A bus drove by the station and stopped. The doors opened and people started to come out. Hannah looked across the street. Three man standing there looked directly at her. One of them smiled and whispered something. The other two started to walk quickly across the road. “f**k, into the bus Blondie!” said Hannah, as the bus doors startet to close. One of the passengers held the door. They jumped inside right before the bus left. “Oii there, ladies, not sure where you going?” he asked, looking at Hannah. Jenny turned and looked through the window. Two men stood there at the station. There was no sign of the third one. “Where is he..?” “Touch me again and I’ll rip your balls off” growled Hannah, looking at the man that helped them with murder in her eyes. “Oii, aggressive, I like it…” he smiled wide. Tall girl was about to move, but then someone put a hand on the man’s shoulder. “Hey, leave the ladies alone,” said a young passenger behind him. The bully looked at Hannah one more time, but seeing her furious gaze he gave up. “Chill out, chill out..” he murmured and moved. “Hey, braid girl, I thought you had an exam today?” A young passenger smiled at Jenny. She blinked, being pulled from her thoughts. “Tea wizard?” He smiled again and looked at Hannah. Her sight was embarrassing him. “Sorry, I didn’t want to disturb you, I just thought you need a hand…” he stuttered immediately. Hannah rolled her eyes and pulled Jenny to the end of the bus. She was texting someone in a hurry. “I think we are in trouble Hannah. One of them is close… Or at least that’s what I kind of feel…” Jenny whispered. “Yeah, he turned. We will have to be quick.” The bus slowed down and stopped. “This is our stop, let’s go.” “Turned? What do you mean, “turned”?!” said Jenny, following Hannah outside.. “Hey, see ya tomorrow?!” a young guy yelled after them, but they didn’t hear him anymore. *** The sun was almost rising. The wind blew strong and made the trees restless and noisy. Two young girls runned into the park. Jenny struggled to keep up with her companion. She was sprinting like an athlete. “Wait!.. Come on… What are you, a champion or something…” she chugged. “Oh wait, you are! You play in our basketball team, am I right?” Hannah slowed down for a moment, seeing Jenny was far behind her. “What are you do…” she said but then stopped, staring at the park entrance. Jenny turned around. Her heart was beating fast, but it was not because of the physical effort. The chivers went through her body when she realized she was looking at a huge dog-like creature approaching them like its victims. His fur was grey-brown. The lantern light was reflecting on it making it shine. She could see his teeth, looking long and sharp like little yellow knives. A low growl came out of his mouth as he was getting ready to jump. Jenny took a step back, but it was too late. The beast jumped forward. She closed her eyes, prepared to be attacked. Loud shots sound spread in the air. Nothing happened. Jenny opened her eyes. The dog was laying in front of her. The ground was covered with thick blood. “Is it dead?” Jenny whispered. Her whole body was shaking. “Dead? No.” Hannah put the gun down and looked at her phone. “Come on,” she said. “More will come in a minute.” Still shocked, Jenny runned after the tall girl. Her mind was tangled. Nothing of this made any sense. She didn’t understand what was happening. They ran through the park and went out into the side street. Hannah headed towards an old car waiting there. “Quick Blondie!” she yelled as she got into the car. Jenna hesitated but then felt another shivers wave on her body. It was clear she had to get into that car so she opened the back door and jumped inside quickly. The engine started loudly and with a little screech of the old tires they drove down the gray street. *** The phone woke him up. He opened his eyes immediately and picked up. “Another case.” Men got up hearing those words. ”This time it’s serious. One man killed. Girl got kidn*pped. Police are already heading there.” “s**t” he whispered, as he tried to pull his pants with one hand, holding his phone in the other. “Address?” he asked. “I will send you over the details by text,” the man replied. “Got it, thanks”. He winced, as he looked at his shirt. It was all creased. He took it, shook it out and quickly put on. As he rushed to the kitchen, he looked at his watch and cursed silently. Pictures appeared in his head of what he will do when he finally gets those ‘people’. He grabbed a pot full of cold coffee and poured some into his cup. A text message signal interrupted him when he was taking a sip. He looked at it and called back. “Boston again?” he asked. “I should probably just move in there”. “A cab will be there for you in 3 mins. Flight is in one hour, so move fast” a man replied. Dean smiled. His gray eyes finally looked conscious. “As always, Patrick,” he said and hung up.
