The man's jaw dropped as his eyes widened in shock, he couldn't believe her boldness. Delia kept gazing at Darren, locking her eyes onto as he tucked his hands into his pants pocket gazing at her with amusement. "What did you just say?" Darren asked, still gazing at her with amusement. "Will you marry me, Darren?" She repeated her question. "And why should I marry you? Give me a reason why I should marry you?" He questioned, smiling. Delia took a deep breath, calming her nerves as she started talking. "Well, I need your help, and I'll allow you to use me however you like. Darren, you are going to be an unbeatable billionaire next year and no one is going to take that spot from you. You are going to have a partnership with someone which will be a massive breakthrough for you," He just gazed at her intensely. "And why does it seem like you're making all this up? You don't expect me to believe all this, do you?" Delia knew she wasn't convincing enough, but she hoped to get a positive response from him. "Please marry me," she said. "You're Delia right?" Delia nodded, her heart thumping fast to hear his response. "I'm not interested," Darren said, "You're not convincing enough, and it's very obvious that you need my assistance badly. You just brought up those words about me being an unbeatable billionaire next year to grasp my attention, which is not working." Delia nodded, understanding that she was not convincing enough. She hastily brought out a paper and pen from her bag and wrote her number on the paper. She squeezed the paper in his hand "Please think about it," she whispered. She turned and started walking. As she was about to reach the big entrance of the college when a car doublecrossed her, as it halted beside her. The back seat window whined as Austin's face appeared. "Delia," She tried walking away but Austin hastily hopped out of the vehicle holding onto her hand to stop her from walking further. "Delia, will you at least let me get to know you, please?" he asked, his eyes pleading. Delia yanked his hands off her wrist, "No, because you're only going to end up behaving like an animal. I love someone else, and not you. I don't know what you had with my parents, but can't you just accept the fact that I don't want you?" Delia raised her voice at him, feeling infuriated just by seeing his face. She felt a car passing by slowly and glanced at it to see that it was Darren's car. Delia looked away, exhaling deeply. "Just stay away from me," she said, and walked away, flipping her hair backward as she exhaled deeply. As soon as she got outside the school, she flagged down a taxi and hopped inside immediately. * * WHITE ESTATE. Darren stepped out of the vehicle, and he couldn't forget the encounter he had with her. Her boldness and how she proposed a marriage to him and wonder what drives her to do such. As he entered the living room, he headed upstairs to his room and his personal assistant, Albert, followed him closely. "Sir, what should I do with the girl, and the paper she gave you?" Albert asked, his voice laced with curiosity. Darren hesitated for a moment before responding. "Please just drop the paper," he said, and Albert gently placed it on his desk. Darren then took off his bag from his shoulder, dropping it onto the chair. "I'll contact her," Darren added, and Albert's eyes widened in surprise. "Young master!" Darren turned to face him, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Albert, I'm making a good decision. She looks intriguing, and it seems like she wants to try something fun. Why don't we indulge in the fun? It won't hurt to get to know her better." Albert's eyebrow furrowed in concern. "But, sir, what about your father? I don't think she has a good background." "Don't worry, we'll cross that bridge soon. Trust me, Albert," Darren said, smiling as he gazed at him and he could see the worried expression on his face. As he spoke, Darren began to take off his shirt, revealing his chiseled physique. "I'll take care of this, Albert. I will ponder over the issue again since you don't seem to like the proposal. She looks like an attention seeker, I understand that aspect you are trying to show me so don't worry you can leave now, I won't contact her" Darren said, his voice polite. Albert nodded reluctantly and turned to leave, but not before casting a worried glance at the paper on the desk. * * Delia spent the day outside, trying to avoid unnecessary confrontation, the only thing she wants to see is them wailing, and begging for her forgiveness. So she went home late. She got home and went straight to her room, ignoring her mom and Sophia who were seated on the sofa in the living room. As she entered her room, she locked the door behind her. She packed her hair into a messy ponytail and headed to the bathroom to take a warm bath. After bathing, she brought out the pizza and coke she had bought for herself on the way home. She sat on her bed, savoring the aroma of the pizza and taking a sip of the cold coke. She was savoring her meal when her phone suddenly started ringing. She hesitated before picking up, seeing an unknown number visible on her phone screen. "Delia Harrington on the line," she said, waiting to hear the person's voice. "Let's date, Delia. In fact, let's get married," a deep, smooth voice said on the other end of the line. The coke Delia held fell from her hand, crashing onto the floor as her jaw dropped in shock. Her eyeballs almost fell out of their sockets as she struggled to process what she was hearing.
