Chapter 10

988 Words
Damon was waiting for Elvia in front of the restaurant, as it was the official day the plan was going to start their plans. He would be introducing her as his girlfriend and could barely wait for the results. He knew Elvia was smart enough to pull this off and wouldn’t blow it. He looked at his limited-edition wristwatch to check and ensure they weren’t late already as first impression matters. That only could tick his family off and give them a reason to blow off his plans completely. He leaned back on his car while wondering why Elvia was yet to get there. ‘could it be that she backed off after the cheque? No no… I don’t think she is that foolish’ he studied the woman and figured that she has pride and would never willingly accept to be embarrassed because of money. He sighed as he decided to wait a little more for her. Fifteen more minutes passed and he couldn’t deny that he was starting to get nervous because this night couldn’t be messed up. He was so confident the last time he spoke to his aunt and dad and he couldn’t even imagine any scenario if the plan was shattered. He tapped his foot on the ground as he was starting to get impatient. It was 45 minutes and she wasn’t even here! He could only hope that she was just late and didn’t deliberately do anything stupid. He was sure that by now, his family members were already prepared to receive her and his aunty would be throwing silly tantrums. He couldn’t handle anymore of his aunt’s tantrums. He couldn’t also bare to see the irritating smirk on her son’s face. He couldn’t imagine what going home without a woman by his side would cause him. It would be more than shameful and he couldn’t carry any random woman because it might even make it worse, as she might not stand by his rules, or mistakenly spill the beans when pressured by his family, or cling and he hates clinginess and that’s why he thought Elvia to be the best candidate for this as she had all the qualities to make this look believable. He could only curse silently while promising Elvia eternal damnation if she ever does the unspeakable especially after giving her the money. He couldn’t lose out at this point and he needed Elvia as she wasn’t even attracted to him, and doesn’t desire any outrageous thing like a wedding. Something other female gold diggers wouldn’t hesitate to do especially with creepy plans up their sleeves such as getting pregnant. He could clearly see it in her eyes that she didn’t fawn over him in any way and that made him curious. She was a rare gem of a woman and that’s why despite her outrageous demand, he gave in. She definitely was the first woman who had seen him not like a handsome god, but as a pest. Suddenly, drake froze as he felt his heartbeat accelerating. He looked towards the door of the restaurant he had entered 5 minutes ago to grab a drink. There she was, looking like an ethereal being and he sucked in a sharp breath when their eyes met and she walked towards him. Her long legs moving one after the other, her hips swaying to the movement of her legs and he couldn’t take his eyes off. She was in a simple but graceful dress and she let her shiny brunette hair cascade down her back. He figured she was a beautiful woman, but didn’t think she could look anything close to this. “Eyes are up here” he snapped out of his thoughts at her words. “with your reaction earlier, I am sure I passed your expectations” Elvia said very sure she was right and turned around in front of him for him to fully access her as well. Damon choked as he wasn’t expecting such move from her but then again, everything about her from the moment she stepped into the restaurant was unexpected. “Why are you late?” he asked with a frown, ignoring the stunt she pulled. Elvia had no reaction to his tone of voice as she was indifferent about it. She put on a smirk on her face “my apologies dear boyfriend, this is a family dinner we are heading to. A family dinner/introduction. And we both know that first impression matters to you rich people. And with your reaction earlier, I could tell it was worth it. Also, was that relief I saw earlier? Hahahaha…. Did you think I would back out at the last minute? Sorry but Elvia would never do that” she said with a cold snare. He could only wonder what kind of woman she was to have even read him earlier and why he would let his expression out so easily. He internally facepalmed. What courage she had. He smirked at the thought. Elvia didn’t bother even if he got annoyed, and he wondered that she didn’t drool over his appearance. She didn’t care about him and that made him feel lucky as it was a good thing. The fact that she didn’t care about his wealth outside their contract was such an amazing quality as it would enable less complications for them. No strings attached and this was pure business and nothing more. And they were both getting something out of it. A win-win. “who in their right senses won’t be worried at such situation being 45 minutes late? Anyways, its okay. We better get going” he walked out of the restaurant . “And who in their right senses would walk off leaving their companion even if its fake? Seeing is believing i***t!” Elvia mumbled, already pissed as she trailed after him while still maintaining her poise and attracting eyes.
