Chapter 11

“Omg!” This was what rang in Elvia’s head as she looked at the car in front of her. She never thought she would occupy this kind of car in her entire life. She wondered inside of her, but her steeze wouldn’t let her compliment or show any kind of expression on her face whatsoever. “Are you expecting the car to enter you? I thought it was the other way around” Damon smirked because he knew she was staring even while keeping a stoic face. Elvia opened the car door and got in, “we are going to be late, so stop talking already and drive.” She said while making herself comfortable with the seatbelt. Damon drove off without another word. On the way, Elvia realized that the man she was sitting with in the car wasn’t just any ordinary man but an extravagantly rich person. Who would pay such huge amounts for a person to be a pretend girlfriend afterall? ‘right, so this means I cant back out’ “penny for your thoughts?” Damon asked in curiosity. Elvia didn’t reply, but he went ahead “no need to overthink anything. For one, you already look very beautiful tonight. Simple, but lavishing” “Thank you” Elvia didn’t know what to say other than feel grateful that he atleast complimented something she got. That was a huge accomplishment indeed. As they got closer, she started getting nervous and took in deep breaths which of course didn’t go unnoticed by Damon. “also, no need to be nervous. Just act simple and remember I got your back. Elvia smiled internally “so he isn’t rude so afterall” Neither Elvia or Damon spoke a word while on the way to the Ryker family house. Elvia brought out her phone and did a thorough research on anything she could find about the Ryker family. After a little time passed, they finally arrived in front of an enormous gate. Elvia knew that this family was rich, but never did she expect them to be this rich. The kind of wealth that could feed their fifth generation if they decide not to do anything else but eat. The entrance was beautified with pretty looking flowers, and she couldn’t help but compliment “you have a nice place” Damon looked at her, knowing that ‘nice’ was an understatement when referring to the beauty of the place, but still said “Yeah it is. Thanks” He parked the car at their very luxurious looking garage and got off. Before Elvia could comprehend how exactly she would open the door, the door opened and a hand was extended to her. Obviously, it was Damon’s hand. All part of their game. He pulled her close and held her possessively. Elvia jolted at the feeling of his hand on her waist. She hadn’t even felt such when it concerned Clinton. “Welcome young master, welcome miss” the housekeeper greeted before they stepped into the mansion. ‘ok, these people are something else’ she thought as she checked out the house. She looked at the fancy things and knew that even if she was sold right now, the money wouldn’t be enough to buy one of these. “finally!” a voice woke her from her thoughts. She looked up to find three pairs of eyes on them. “Good evening” Damon said briefly. “Good evening” Elvia said with a little more enthusiasm and bowed her head slightly as she didn’t know how the rich did it. “Good evening dear” Elvia saw a woman, with shoulder length dark hair, and dark eyes walking towards her with a smile. Judging by her facial features, she looked like Damon’s mum. The woman gave her airy cheek kisses. She was stunned, but regained her composure almost immediately. “I am Damon’s mum and we are glad to have you as our guest tonight.” “All introductions can continue at the dinning table. Lets go before the meals turn cold” another voice made Elvia look up. The man didn’t even bother looking at them again and just proceeded to the dining area, followed by the lady she guessed was Damon’s Aunty. She stared at Damien with a look that inquired on who the person was. “My Dad” Damon said, with a bored tone of voice and anyone could detect that he wasn’t on good terms with his dad. They proceeded to the dining table and while on the way, she kept wondering how a house could be that big. Weren’t the architects tired? When everyone was seated at the largest dining table Elvia had ever seen, she just then realized that she was dining with one of the most prominent families in Riverdale. How exactly did she become the one that Damon chose? She didn’t know if she should feel happy or cry about her luck. She suddenly felt like every action of hers was watched closely, and just assured herself to calm down. ‘I mean, what could go wrong?’ “Your grandmother will be arriving pretty soon” Gregory, Damon’s father announced to them. “she said she wanted to meet your girlfriend, so she’s dropping by.” Elvia didn’t like the look he threw at her while saying the word ‘Girlfriend’ but her thoughts were interrupted….. “That’s not a problem. I’m sure Elvia would love to meet grandma. Right darling?” huh? Elvia thanked God she wasn’t with any liquid in her mouth, or it would have been a disaster despite the fact that that was a normal endearment to use because they were in a contracted relationship. “yes. I sure would love to meet grandmother.” She said as she smiled at Gregory, but he just kept a stoic face and went back to speaking with Damon’s aunt. She didn’t think much about it, as she didn’t even care. It was afterall a contracted relationship. Nothing to be bothered about. “why don’t we all introduce ourselves properly?” Damon’s mum suggested. “I will start first. I am Basma, Damon’s mum.” “I am Ann. Damon’s Aunt. “Gregory” Damon’s father muttered as if he was being forced. “Nice to meet you all, I am Elvia.” “What’s the last name?” Ann asked which wasn’t a surprise to Elvia as she knew they cared about reputation. “Morrison” Elvia answered while wondering why the food was yet to be served. To her, this wasn’t even a normal dinner. It was a feast. And by their body shape, anyone could tell that they weren’t big eaters. So why make so much food? Elvia wondered. “Hmmm… I have heard of Morrison Glasshouse. They sure are doing well lately.” Aunt Ann said, bringing Elvia’s thoughts to a halt. “So are you getting involved with the business? I mean, you should have relevant shares right?” the woman added, which made her choke on her own saliva. Glasshouse? How could she come up with such conclusion without even enquiring if that was the Morrison she was speaking of?!! So this was the requirements to be married into the family? Be from a very known and reputable home? Ridiculous!
