The Confused One

Episode 15

Lucas’s POV

After my rant Charlotte didn’t say anything, what else was I expecting.

I left, I left her apartment and now, now im driving around trying to figure out where I could go, I cant go to my parents because all they want is for me to get together with Charlotte so they would just tell me to marry her and not give me any useful advice.

I don’t have any siblings to confide in and my other parental figures are Charlotte’s parents, and her dad, well he is kinda mad.

The one person who I would normally go to is Charlie and he refuses to talk to me.

I think and think and think but no matter how much I try to come up with an idea I can’t think of anything.

I drive until I’m in front of Charlie’s house.

I know I have no right to be here but all I can do is hope Charlie is willing to listen to me and help me out.

I knock the door and Lyra Charlie’s wife opened the door.

“Hey Lucas.” She greeted me and gave me a hug. 

Lyra is so nice and it isn’t a fake nice like Joana, Lyra is honestly so nice and I’m so happy that her and Charlie found each other, they are a match made in heaven.

“Hey Lyra, is Charlie home?” I ask and she looked back into the house and pointed to the room I know is Charlie’s office.

“Thank you.” I say and make my way through the familiar house and knock on the office door.

“Lyra hun what have I told you, you don’t ever have to knock.” I heard Charlie say with a loving tone.

His whole mood changed as soon as I opened the door and he saw me.

“What the f**k do you want?” He asked with anger.

“Charlie I understand why you are so annoyed, I just, I just need your help.” I told him and he looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

“Why should I help you, why don’t you go ask Charlotte.” He said sarcastically.

“Charlie look I have no clue what to do please dude.” I said, he took a deep breath  but at the end reluctantly nodded.

“It all started 4 months ago.” I started and Charlie looked at me unamused.

“Charlotte called me down to her office because she needed my help.” I continued.

“I don’t need details.” Charlie said disgust covering his facial features.

“No, she called me because she wanted help with picking out a donor from the 200 something men the clinic gave her.” I told him and he looked at me with a look of confusion.

“Why would she come to you she hates you? well hated from the looks of it.” Charlie asked.

“She felt uncomfortable coming to you or anyone else in your family, anyway, we looked through all them and at the end they all were s**t, i saw how broke she was, she was willing to let some random dude f**k her so she could get pregnant so I offered to step forward.” I said and Charlie took a deep breath as to calm himself.

“I made a deal that I wouldn’t be involved or tell anyone, but further into the pregnancy she got the crazier I went, I couldn’t leave her to raise my kid alone, but I made a deal so to stick to it, I got engaged to Joana so I would have to stay away but it didn’t work and now I have no f*****g clue what to do now.” I finally finished.

“Look Lucas this is not something I can help you with, that’s my sister for fucks.” Charlie said defeat in his voice.

“Charlie there is no one in the world that could help me out more than you, you are the person that knows her the best.” I said and he shock his head.

“Lucas all I can say really is that Charlotte is stubborn and strong however she is also scared and confused about this baby, she won’t take help easily however you just have to keep trying and be there for her.” Charlie said and I thanked him and made my way out, however before I left I said,

“She is missing you.” 

“I know.” He answered, I then closed his office door, said goodbye to Lyra and headed back to Charlotte’s apartment.
