CHAPTER TWO

I walked into the school, and went to the lockers, and put my bag away. I knew Michael would be in the stairwell. That’s where he snuck Jasmine in to make out with her. It was a dark stairwell, and no teachers used it. Only students.

Sure enough, I opened the door and walked down the first flight of stairs, and there was Michael with his younger down Jasmines throat. He had his eyes closed as he kissed her. Jasmine opened her eyes and seen I was standing there, so she kissed Michael harder, and stared at me the whole time. It was weird.

I cleared my throat, to get Michaels attention,

“Hey buddy” He said wiping the saliva away from his mouth, “How long have you been there for?” He chuckled,

“Long enough” I said with a smile,

“I think he likes to watch” Jasmine said as she lifted Michaels arm up and wrapped it around herself.

“Ah no thanks” I said. I come across a little rude, I didn’t mean to-but that was just gross.

“Anyways” I said trying to lighten the tension, “ I’m having a birthday party in two weeks, do yous want to come?” I asked them.

“Of course we will” Jasmine said with a big smile,

“ I wouldn’t miss my best friends birthday” Michael said,

“Okay cool, well its going to be out the back in the pool area. So bring some swimmers and towels” I told them,

“Oh yay, I can wear my new bikini” Jasmine said excitedly “Its’s the one with the G-string Michael” She was talking to him, but looking straight at me.

She was such a sleaze, I thought to myself.

“Hey Jasmine, do you think Eve would like to come?” I asked nervously,

“Oh really? Double date? O.M.G Eve would love that Jeremy!” She said excitedly. “You know she’s asked about you a few times now” Jasmine said,

“Really?” I questioned her,

“Yep. I think she would love to come to your birthday.” Jasmine sounded more excited then me,

“How cool, It falls on a full moon too! “ she added,”How beautiful will that be, swimming in a pool by the light of the full moon. How romantic” She turned to Michael, and wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Sounds like I’m going to enjoy the view, of ‘Uranus’” he started laughing, “Do you get it babe? ‘your-anus’. Because you said your wearing a G-sting.” Michael really thought he was a comedian sometimes,

I laughed at him because it was a corny joke, but it was actually kind of funny.

“Uh Hmm. Do you have your own school do get too Miss Smith” we knew that voice,

“Morning Principle Warner” Michael and I both looked up at her, and said it at the same time,

“Good Morning Jeremy, Good morning Michael.” She smiled at us “Last I checked Miss Smith, you weren’t enrolled at our premises anymore” She continued to look Jasmine up and down,

“Sorry Mrs Warner. I will head off to school now. Bye Michael” Jasmines whole posture and voice changed around Mrs Warner, she seemed so much nicer-how fake-I thought to myself. Jasmine pecked Michael goodbye and jogged down the stairs. I was glad to see her leave.

“Alrighty boys, off to Chemistry class, the bells about to ring.” Mrs Warner just finished her sentence and sure enough the bell rang.

“Good luck at training today Jeremy. Play hard young man.” She said before she left.

“ So?” Michael asked

“So? What?” I asked confused,

“Eve?” Michael chuckled,

I smiled,

“Yeah she seems nice” I said, a little embarrassed.

“Well, aren’t you lucky Jasmine brung her to one of your basket games” He said.

He was right, if Jasmine didn’t bring Eve to one of my basketball games, I would never of ever met her. From the moment I laid my eyes on her I thought she was gorgeous, from her pitch black hair, right down to her bright green eyes. I noticed Eve was watching, and for some reason I played extra hard that day. I don’t usually show off, but that day I did.

After my team won the game, we all went to get ice cream. Eve and I hit off, we cracked jokes and laughed about a lot of thing. I had never felt that way around anyone before. Just thinking about that day made me smile, I liked Eve.

Michaels phone made a noise as we made our way to class, I knew it would be a message from Jasmine. She messaged him a thousand times a day. I rolled my eyes as I watched Michael reading the message, a cheesy grin came over his face,

“Eve’s coming to your birthday” I looked at he and winked,

“Huh, what?” I asked a little shocked,

“Jasmine has already lined her up to come. She just text me to tell me” He waved his phone in front of my face so I could read it,

‘Tell Jeremy that Eve said she would love to come on a double date, for Jeremy’s birthday night’- the text message read. My stomach dropped from nerves,

“Double date?” I asked, I was excited, and scared at the same time,

“Yeah bud, you got a date!” Michael mocked with a laugh,

“Oh god, what if I mess it up?” I started freaking out,

“You cant mess it up man, Eve has been wanting to see you since you basketball game the other week” Michael informed me,

“What, really? Why didn’t you tell me?” I grinned and gave Michael a little shove in the shoulder,

“You don’t need distractions when the championship games coming up Jerry” Michael said in a serious tone,

It was the truth, the Championship game was only a couple months away, I had spent the whole year training for it. Basketball might seem like an easy game-you catch a ball, you throw it, or you hoop it. It sounded so simple, but it wasn’t. It was a relentless and demanding sport, but I loved everything to do with it.

Michael and I made our way to class, it sucked we were in any of the same classes. Mrs Warner said it was best that we were separated, because when we were together; all we did was clown around and laugh. I needed the good grades to stay in the basketball team, it was a requirement.

The day had been dragging on, I was sitting in History class with my head down on the table and I was scrolling through f*******: for something to do. I had already finished the assignment the rest of the class was doing. My phone vibrated in my hand, it was a message from an unsaved number,

“Hey Jeremy, it’s Eve. I hope you don’t mind, I asked Jasmine to get your number from Michael. Hope everything’s going good. I’m looking forward to your birthday, and our date” I felt nervous as I read it,

I quickly saved Eve’s number and then replied,

“Hey Eve, I’m glad you messaged. I hope everything’s good with you too. I look forward to see you next weekend” I nervously pressed he send button.

‘Thank you Jasmine and Michael’ I thought to myself.

The rest of the day flew by, Eve and I had been messaging on and off. I headed to the indoor sports building for my basketball training, I knew Michael would already be there. Now that schools over Jasmine and him would spend every minute making out.

Sure enough, I looked up at the bench seats and there was Michael, Jasmine and Eve! Eve was here too! I got a little embarrassed seeing her. Michael and Jasmine laughed, I think they could see my face going red. Eve waved at me, and gave me a big grin, so I smiled and waved back.

I had a quick shower after training ended, and was ready to catch a lift home with Michael. I walked out the doors, and the three of them were sitting on the steps talking to each-other,

“Geez that’s a first” I laughed, they all turned to look at me confused,

“Huh” Michael asked,

“It’s very often I get to see your face Michael, usually Jasmines tongues glued down you neck” I laughed, Eve burst out laughing too,

Michael and Jasmine looked at the both of us unimpressed,

“Do you want to walk home bud?” Michael joked, and I shook my head no,

“Don’t worry Jeremy, I would drop you off at home” Eve said,

“Well, thank you Eve” I said flipping Michael the rude finger,

They all laughed. We sat around talking, and I realised it was getting late.

“We better get going, it’s getting late” Eve said standing up, “I’ll drive Jeremy home, and you can take Jasmine” Eve offered,

Jasmine and Michael looked at each other and winked,

“Sounds good” I said with smirk,

We all said goodbye and made our way home. Eve and I got along so well, it was like we had known each other our whole lives. On the way home, I managed to convince her to come in and meet my parents.

Walking to the door I done my passcode for the security alarm, and made my way inside,

“Beautiful house” Eve said as she looked around in Awe.

“Thank you. Mum, Dad?” I called out,

“In the dining room sweet heart” Mum called back, so I made me way towards the dining room, with Eve following close by,

“Hey, Mum and Dad. This is my friend Eve, she just gave my a lift home from practice” I said “Eve, these are my parents, Karen, and Tom-Thomas” I introduced them to each other,

Mum had a massive grin on her face, and dad raised hi eyebrow smirking,

“Lovely to meet you honey” mum said kindly.

“It’s nice to meet you too” Eve said smiling,

“I better get going, Mum starts work soon, and she going to need her car back” Eve explained,

“What does your Mum do for work sweetheart?” I knew Mum would ask,

“She works in the criminology department at the Police laboratory. She does the night shift” Eve said,

“Ah, I like her already” Dad grinned,

“Dad’s a scientist, and his very proud of it” I explained to Eve.

We talked for a few more minutes, then said our goodbyes and I walked Eve to the door.

“Thank for the lift home” I smiled at her,

“Anytime” she said starting up at me with her beautiful emerald coloured eyes,

“Guess I will see you on my birthday-if I don’t see you before.”I stuttered a little, and I looked down at her, she was only about a foot away from me.

“If I don’t see you before, I will definitely see you on my birthday. You can always message me” Eve said with a big grin, she stood up on her tippy toes, and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

I stood there stunned, I’m pretty sure I blushed too. Eve giggled and walked away.
