Grace's mother tells her to put the phone on speaker.

"You said you'll come visit me and see my baby,"

Grace Facepalms "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't remember, when do you want me to come?

Her mother tells her not to ask that she's going tomorrow.

" Alright, I'm coming tomorrow, "

"Really?"

"Yes, you will see me tomorrow."

"Alright then."

Grace headed to her room to pack up her things.

Grace's parents were always overprotective of Grace and it made her angry at times, but this time she couldn't explain what exactly was her parents' problem, one minute they wanted her out the next minute they were looking for her.

She was already tired of them and she was happy to leave but at the same time she would miss the love of her life, she packed up things that would last for a long time.

[Hey, Chris I'm on my way to Texas, I'll see you when I'm back]

She texted him from the airport so he'd know she had left, everything happened quite urgently.

Chris is on his laptop, he sees the message and replies.

[ Alright, let me know when you reach, I love you]

[I will Love you too]

Knocks on the door, Danielle hears it and goes to get it.

"Oh my goodness," Danielle hugs her sister.

Then she brings her stuff in.

"Is that my darling Grace?" Grandma Anna says rolling her wheelchair and coming towards where they were.

" Yeah, it's me, grandma," she went on to hug her grandma.

Danielle takes her sister's luggage to the room, while she's having a conversation with her grandma.

Grandma Anna is not Grace's real grandmother, but they call her that because of how nice and friendly she is, Grace had only stayed with her once and that was during the holidays, she was Danielle's husband's grandmother.

She was so friendly and everyone liked her.

Fast forward to the next two months.

"Mom and Dad irritate me these days," Grace says carrying her sister's baby.

"What do you mean?"

"They are just being weird to me for no reason, Dad says I'll only get married when I'm 40, I don't know what he sees me as,"

Danielle and Grandma Anna burst into laughter.

"Why are you guys laughing, it isn't funny,"

"If marriage is important to you, you won't get it by Carrying Danielle's baby all day, you've got your license, you get a job while you're working you'll meet someone you like, if he has money you marry him, if he doesn't have money and he doesn't also look like my grandson, run away from him,"

"What kind of advice is that, Grandma Anna?"

" Of course, I'm telling the truth, you've always wanted someone who would take care of your son for free, and the best option was Grace,"

Danielle facepalmed, " I feel attacked"

"You better do," Grandma says, rolling her wheelchair to her room.

"Grandma is right, but I have a boyfriend already,"

"Really? What's his name?"

"His name is Chris, I've been dating him for a long time now, I've kept it a secret from Mom and Dad cause I don't want drama,"

"You're 24, you're not a baby, why is mom and dad like that?

"It's because of your first marriage,"

"Oh, I didn't think of that," Danielle hits her head.

"I'll take grandma's advice. I'll work, save up some money, and move out of the house, so Mom and Dad will see me differently.

"There's a hospital nearby, not so far, you can apply there, so you won't have to rent a house or spend too much,"

"I'll go there tomorrow, thanks big sis,"

"Don't thank me, what are friends for?"

They both laugh.

Knocks on the door, Noah, Danielle's brother-in-law, goes to get it.

He opens the door and sees Grace; he leaves the door and walks back to his laptop.

Grace enters and shuts the door.

Grace didn't find Noah easygoing, he was tall, and handsome with blue piercing and curly hair, he had the same features as Chris, her boyfriend.

He hardly said a word, and when he did he was rude especially to Grace, as though he hated her.

He related with Grandma Anna and her elder sister well, that made Grace feel like he hated her.

According to Grace's elder sister, she said he worked as a manager in a big company there in Texas. I wondered why he was living in his brother's house, they said he shared the house bills with Danielle's husband.

He could stare at a person the whole day without saying a word.

"How did it go darling?" Danielle asks immediately if she sees me.

"I got the job, I'll resume on Monday,"

Noah puked the water in his mouth.

"Are you alright? Danielle asked him.

"Yeah," he said, using his hand towel to clean his face.

Grace was annoyed, she felt like he was mocking her, she wanted to confront him but she thought it a bad idea because he had not spoken to her before, she didn't want to look like a crazy person.

So she left it for another day.

"Thank God, you got the job, good luck with it,"

"Thanks, big sis,"

"Working in a big hospital like this was what I always looked up to all my days in uni. Thank God it happened and I'm proud of myself. I will always love my parents for making sure I go through school." Grace said to herself and smiled.

While preparing drugs she'd administer to a patient, her phone rang and she picked it up.

"Grace, you have to come home, your mom was run over by a car,

And she is in a coma. I've been trying to reach you since it happened I couldn't get to you, please come,"

Grace could feel her heart sink.
