" I thought about it too, but you're just coming back," "Oh my goodness! What should I explain to them?" "You tell them what happened, if they still let you work with them, you continue, if they don't, you look for another," Grandma interrupts. "She can also work in our company if she loses the job," Noah interrupts. "Have you been listening to us?" Grace asks. "Kind of," "Thanks so much, Noah," Danielle says to Noah. He nods. "Noah please get me water," Grandma says. Noah goes to get the water. Danielle observes the awkward look on her sister's face and says "Don't worry about him, he's Gay," "Whatttt?" Grace expresses her shock. Grandma laughed out loudly. "Are you serious," Grace asks, but no one answers. ******* Grace sits on the chair, "how did it go?" Grandma asks. "Went well, It's clear that God was rooting for me, I was given my job back, I was surprised, I was even told by my colleague that there's a patient that's always looking for me, I'll be resuming tomorrow," Noah sneezes loudly. Grace looks at Noah as though her eyes were a sniper looking at its victim. "You're very dramatic for no reason, maybe that's why you're Gay, stay off my business b***h, we have nothing in common," was the conversation going on in Grace's head while she was looking at Noah. Danielle hasn't been herself ever since Grace told her what happened to her parents. Grace just has to move on so she doesn't ruin her life. "Wow, thank God you got the job, gradually everything will be fine, who's the patient looking for you?" Grandma Anna asks. Grace takes away her gaze from Noah. "They said he's an old man, there's actually an old man I administer drugs to sometimes, he once told me I look like the first love of his life…." Grandma chuckles. "I asked him what happened to her, he said he lost her to his best friend because of his bad behavior when he was very much younger but he said he still loved her," "Oh, poor him," Grandma puts up a pity face. Grace was patiently waiting for Noah to do something annoying but he didn't. "He's about 79 years or so, he's very nice and friendly, but he has a terminal disease," "Oh no," Grandma's facepalms. **** "Good morning, Mr Jones" Grace greets her patient Good morning, pumpkin," Mr Jones replies. "How are you feeling today?" "I must say I feel very good, and how are you? Grace breathed out. "I am good," " I haven't seen you in a while, what happened?" " Yeah, I wasn't at work, I went through some stuff and I lost my parents, I'm not supposed to tell you this, it's against the rule I just did it because you asked," " No it doesn't matter, you're my friend, sorry about your parents but you didn't lose them, they went to heaven to watch over you don't ever think you lost them, you didn't, they are in good hands," Grace smiled. She went on to administer drugs to him. Mr Jones was the strongest man Grace had seen in her life, even knowing he had a terminal disease, he was always positive, and he never gave in for thanatophobia, It got Grace wondering why bad things happen to good people, this was an irregular reaction nurses got from patient like him, he believes dying isn't bad. "Alright, see you later Mr Jones," "See you too, pumpkin," While Grace was leaving the ward, she saw the guy she bumped into on the day she was rushing home after her Dad's call, he was entering the ward. "Hi," he said to Grace. "Hello," she replied with a broad smile. He entered the room, and his Grandfather saw him. "Hey son," Mr Jones said to him at the sight of him. "Good day, Grandpa," he replied. "You good?" "Yeah, sure" "I was already thinking about you, I didn't know you'd show up so quickly……" "Speak of the devil," the grandson interrupts, chuckling. "Thank God you're here now, There's something I want you to do for me, will you?" "What is it?" ***** Mr Jones's grandson is leaving the room, he heads for the hallway, and he sees Grace. "Umm…thank God I saw you, sorry I don't even know your name, my name is Philip Jones, do you mind if I talk to you for a minute?" "My name is Grace, I'm currently on duty, I can't talk now, maybe some other time please," "No, no, no, I know you're busy I'm not dumb but there's something important I want to talk to you about and I need you to listen to me, please I'm begging you," Grace wonders what's the important thing he wants to talk about. She looks at her watch and calculates the time she has to give the next patient treatment. She looks at him and looks at her watch a second time. "Alright, you have two minutes, three minutes max," "Thanks so much….." Grace drags him to a corner where she can't easily be seen. He breathes out heavily, "You're friends with that man I saw you come out of his ward earlier?" "Yes, I administer drugs to him, is he related to you?" "Yes, he's my grandfather, he asked me to marry you, I know it sounds strange but I swear I'm not telling you lies right now, he told me to marry you as his last wish, I don't feel comfortable either I never had such in mind when I was coming here today or even when I saw you earlier but that's what he said." When he stopped talking Grace didn't say a word for a few seconds. "How do I know you're telling the truth?" "You can come with me and ask him if you don't mind," "Alright, let's go," Grace said. She didn't agree because she wanted to marry him, but because she wanted to know if he was lying. They both entered the Ward. "Grandpa, I told her she didn't believe me," His grandpa didn't say anything. "Grandpa, she didn't believe me so I brought he here to hear from you," Grace touched him "Mr. Jones" He didn't open his eyes or move. His grandson tapped him, but he didn't wake up. Grace put her ears on his chest, drew up his eyelids and it fell back. "Is he dead?" his grandson asks.
