Chapter 12: worst timing ever

Isla's POV

It has been 5 months since I have seen Leo. 3weeks after we met in California, I went with my mom to their pack to attend Leo's alpha ceremony. But much to my shock there was a beautiful blonde woman clinging to his arm. It took all my patience and will power not to rip her to shreds for staking her claim to my mate. Needless to say I ignored him the whole night, when ever he tried to get close to me I would walk the other way not because I did not want talk to him because I did but I did not trust myself not to make a seen as my pregnancy hormones are running amuck in my body which is driving everyone including myself insane. When it was time to leave I couldn't get out of there fast enough, but being a princess ment I could not leave without saying goodbye

Flashback

I am standing in the corner of the ballroom when my mother approaches me "you ready to go darling?" she asks I smile at her and say "yes please" she nods and says "come on let go say our farewells to the alpha then we can go home" and I sigh to which she gives me a weird look "I will tell you later, let's get this over with so I can leave this place" I say as I start making my way over to the alpha's table. As he has seen our approach he has stands up from his chair. Once we stop in front of him he bows "your highness's" he greets us my mother and I smile nod our heads and my mother says "alpha on behalf of the royal family, we wish you a long and prosperis rain as alpha of this pack" Leo looks at her and smiles "thank you, your highness" and he looks at me with longing eyes "can we talk?" he asks but before I can answer the blonde woman appears and laces her arm with is. I look at her as she is looking me up and down with utter disgust. I look back at Leo and say "looks like you made your decision alpha." to which the blonde next to him snorts I turn my gaze to her but address Leo "I suggest you teach your girlfriend on how to behave in front of a royal Alpha before she gets both of you in trouble" i say in a cold tone before I turn to walk away with looking back. Once I make it outside I take a deep calming breath when my mother speaks behind me "he is your mate isn't he?" I sigh "yes he is" my mom nods "so why aren't you the one standing next to him?" I look at her "I met Leo when we were in California, it was the day after I found out I was pregnant. He said he didn't want to reject me but that he needed time, but by the looks of it he decided against not rejecting me" my mom doesn't say anything but she wraps me up in a tight hug.

End of flashback

I am now two weeks away from my due date. And I cannot wait for this pregnancy to be over as I am tried of not being able to see my feet when I walk. I am tried of eating pickles and strawberry ice cream at 3am. Which is what I am doing right now. As I am about to take another my brother comes running into the kitchen like his a*s is on fire "Isla.. black moon... pack... has.... been attacked.... " he manages to say between his panting. And I can see he wants to say more "out with it!" I grit out. He sighs and says "Leo has been taken" I nod and get up from my Chair and head to my room "did you hear what I just said?" I reply "Yes D I heard you. Assemble our best trackers and have them meet me out front in 20 minutes" D grabs my arm and spins me around "where are you going? You are 5 1/2 months pregnant, you can't seriously think it is a good idea to go there?" I look D straight in the eyes "that's my mate out there! Of course I am going" I rip my arm away from him and head to my room.

Twenty minutes later I am standing outside surrounded by the best trackers at the castle. "alright everyone, the alpha of blood moon pack has been taken, we will do everything in our power to get him back. Hold hands I will shimmer us all to the blood moon" as everyone is holding hands I feel two hands land on my shoulders I look back to see Kyra and Ava smiling at me "did you really think we would allow you to do this alone" kyra asks. I take the hand of the two people standing on each side of me and close my eyes and think of our destination. When I open my eyes we are standing in front of the pack house. "your highness thank you for coming" Leo's father says I wave my hand and say "please call me Isla. Can we talk in your office?" he bows his head and says "of course, our omega's will show your men to their rooms while we talk" he turns and walks into the house while me and kyra and Ava follow him to his office. Once we are all settled in the office, the door opens and the blonde woman from the alpha ceremony enters the office like she owns the place but stops short when she sees me sitting in the office "what is she doing here" she sneers the old alpha sighs and says "know your place Lilliana. She is the lycan princess it will do you well to show her the respect she deserves!" she arrogantly crosses her arms across her chest and says "I am going to be Luna of this pack!" the old alpha looses his patience he stands up and slams his hand on the desk so hard I can hear the wood c***k "you might be Leo's girlfriend but make no mistake lilliana you will not be the Luna of this pack. Only my son's true mate will be our Luna. Now GET OUT!" he uses his alpha command on her and she has no choice but to submit and leave the office. The old alpha sits back down and takes a deep breath to calm down." my apologies, she has been an even bigger thorn in my side since Leo became alpha" he says with a sigh. I laugh and say "she is a real peace of work" before I can say anything else I feel a gush of water running down my legs follow by a pain that makes me double over. "Aahhh!" I scream in an instant all three are crouching in front of me. "are you OK" kyra asks. I grit my teeth and say "no!, my water just broke" as the words leaves my mouth. Leo's dad has me in his arms and runs with me to the pack clinic. Once we make it to the clinic I see the doctor and nurses waiting outside with a gurney. Leo's dad lays me down on the gurney as another contraction rips through me "son of a b***h that hurts" grit out and kyra has a sturn expression on her face "hey now don't talk like that about yourself!" she says. And that makes me laugh as I catch my breath I say "this baby sure has s**t timing"
