Chapter 4: getting ready

Isla's POV

50 years later

For the better part of 50 years all I have done is train non stop. In the mornings before breakfast I have training with my mom and my grandmother to work on my lycan abilities, in the afternoon before lunch I train with my grandfather and Gabriel his second in command on my Angel powers, in the evenings before dinner I train with my demon friend Kai on my demon powers and I then finish the day in the library where I learn everything I can about this legend nevaeh talked about. To top off my already busy schedule with the help of my family and Kai of course, I created an organization called THE EYE which I like to use for something I like to call real life training or RLT for short. We Save people from horrible situations that can include supernatural trafficking rings or supernatural black market. Which is where I found my hell hounds Fire and Ice. I was there to find the person that was illegally selling Fae blood. After I made a little mess by extracting the information I needed I stumbled upon a cage with two little puppies huddled into the corner. When I took a closer look I realized what they were and that I needed to take them. I still remember how my family reacted when they saw the pups

Flashback

I just got home after going to the black market to find the person selling Fea's blood to vampires. It is illegal for vampires to drink Fae's blood because it give them this euphoric feeling that is extremely addictive and once a vampire is addicted to Fae's blood they cannot control their blood l**t meaning they cannot stop feeding once they have started. As I am busy taking the pups who I named fire and Ice due to their eyes out of the car my family comes out to meet me but stop dead in their tracks when they see the two hell hound pups in my arms. My brother screams "puppies!" and tries to run towards me only to be held back by my mothers firm grip and she says" Isla what have you done!? Do you have any idea what those are?!? " I look at her with a bord expression and say " yes, they are kittens. Aren't they just the cutest things? " as I am looking at her I see she is trying to figure out if I really don't know what they are but before she can reply is say" geez relax mom, I am not a complete i***t, I know they are hellhounds. I saved them from the black market" as I put the two pups down they immediately sit and wait for me I point to them and say "See they are already bonded to me"

End of flasback

I am brought out of the memory by fire pressing his cold wet nose against my face I give him a gentle smile and stroke his head. That's when the clock on my night stand catches my eye and i am shocked to see I have been sitting on my bed wrapped in my towel for more then 2 hours already and I only have about an hour to get ready as I know if I am not at the front door at 8, Kai will burst into my room like the demon from hell he is and drag my a*s out of the house whether I am ready or not. With a heavy sigh I walk to my closet and put on my outfit for the night. Once I am dressed I head to my vanity table to straighten my wavy hair and put it in a high ponytail. After my hair is done I move on to my makeup. I only apply a little bit of foundation, blush and do a smokey eye. As I finish applying my signature blood red Matt lipstick my door burst open and I see Kai standing there arms folded across his chest with an unamused look on his face. "why do we always have to wait for you? Kaylee was ready on time why couldn't you be? " he huffs I give him my most innocent smile "patience Is a virtue Kai and besides beauty takes time. Do you think I wake up looking like this in the morning?" I say pointing to myself before I continue "besides Kaylee does not have training 3 times a day. What time did she start getting ready . He sighs and I know he cannot argue with me as we both know how long his mate Kaylee takes to get ready "come on we have to go other wise we will miss our window" he says as he turns around. As he is walking out of my room I hear him mumble "women!". Laughing I follow him downstairs where Kaylee is waiting for us.

Once we arrive at the club Kai opens the trunk and hands me my daggers that I slide into the hidden pockets on my thighs. While he is busy handing Kaylee her weapons I open the case that contains my sword. As I take it out of the case I hit the release button hidden on the handle and it turns into a steel belt which I wrap around my waist. Once all of us has our weapons Kai hands each of us a ear peace which we will use to communicate with each other. "now remember, our goal is to take out the member of the ring that are here and save the victims. Nothing more and nothing less" he says looking at me "yeah yeah! What time will they be here?" I ask while rolling my eyes. "the meeting is set for 11" he says as he eyes me. I look at my watch and say "well it is 8:30 now so I have 2 and a half hours to enjoy myself before everything becomes a S**t show." and I turn to walk towards the club when Kai says " Isla we are here for a reason and that reason is not so you can get drunk" I turn around and say "I am going to go in there, have a few drinks, dance my a*s off and find myself a hunk of a man to play with. Got it?" I cross my arms in front of my chest and raise an eyebrow at him. When he says nothing I laughingly say " besides you know human alcohol doesn't affect me" and I turn on my heal and continue making my way into the club
