Chapter 19 Have To See Him

Ember's POV

I can hear the two of them talking back and forth and just the idea of being so close to him without them knowing Im here, makes my heart skip a beat just wanting to tear this bag apart just to get to him.

"Ma I can't do this please just let me out, please I need to go, I need to get back to Ember I haven't heard anything from anyone and I need to know if she is ok.. Just try to convince Da to cancel all this again. please." He begs her and I can feel my heart racing just at the sound of his voice.

"I have tried so many times already Ro, he won't listen to me I don't know what else to do." She replies to him as I take my knife thats in my hand already and slowly unzipping the bag.. and I don't even think they have noticed me yet.

"Ma this isn't what I want I don't want any of this.. I would rather die then be without my mate. She could possibly hate me for whatever Da wrote in that letter.. I just marked her and claimed her as my own, just for her to get slapped in the face by this situation. It isn't fair.. and she doesn't even know it wasn't me."

I open the bag and climb out as I realize I'm in his walk-in closet no wonder they didn't notice me. I straighten my outfit real quick as I walk out if the closet.

"Ro baby, I knew it wasn't you the instant I read the note." I say walking out if the closet into eye view. Making direct eye contact with him and his eyes take my breathe away instantaneously.

"Ember how.. how you.. What are you doing here?" He says pulling his arms and legs trying to get to me.. struggling as he groans in pain from the chains. I run to his side as I sit down on the bed next to him and I can't help the silent tears that are instantly pouring down at the sight of my mate chained up like a wild animal.

"Oh Ro what has he done to you?" I say touching his wounded wrists gently as I look at his face again locking into the intense gazes I love. Then reaching up touching his cheek lightly.. He leans into my touch as he says, "Man you in that outfit is a sight for sore eyes."

I smile and giggle, shaking my head at that comment as the tears really start to pour. How can he make these jokes when he is chained up like this. "Don't cry Ember.. I will be ok baby.. The good thing about being a werewolf is that when he gets me out of here I will start to heal faster.. It also helps me feel better because you're here now."

"Look at what had happened to you because of meeting me.. I'm so sorry Ronan." I say to him as he shakes his head. "No don't you say that I will never regret meeting you ever my love.. so don't you think on it for one second Ember, not one second at all." He says to me as I sniffle and nod agreeing with his demand.

"How could you ever think I would believe you ditched me right after the best night of our lives Ro? I knew right as I read that letter that it wasn't you so I called your brother instantly and all of us put together a plan to get you out of this with me." I explain to him as he smiles and nods.

"I don't know why I would have ever doubted you. I just wanted to make sure you knew it wasn't me and I wouldn't do that to you.. so did you get all dressed up in that amazing outfit for me? Wait is this your old suit or something?" He asks me curiously staring at me still checking out what he can.

"This is my body armor from before, Yes and all my weapons I could store on me I had to make sure I was prepared just in case because you're coming with me whether they like it or not.. You know me, I won't take no for an answer. you're my mate and you promised me forever and I intend to keep it that way." I respond as I hear Cormac purring in his chest.

"Yes ma'am.. I can't believe you're coming to literally fight for me if need be. You don't know what that means to me.." He says with so much adoration in his eyes.. "Or me." I hear from behind me causing me to jump, because I completely forgot his mother was in here, he always distracts me so easily.

I whip around and make eye contact with his gorgeous mother who is shedding some silent tears. "You don't know how happy this makes me that my son has a mate that would not only worry about him, but love him so much that she would fight anyone.. looking like she is ready for a battle just for my son to make sure she can be with him. That makes me feel so relieved. You must be the amazing Ember I have heard so much about already.. I'm Margaret, Queen, and Ronan's mother.. but you can call me mom if you would like." She says quickly latching onto me, hugging me into her motherly embrace, catching me completely off guard.

"It's nice to meet you I'm sorry for bombarding in here but I had to.. I just.." I only get that far into my explanation as she stops me and finishes for me. "You had to because you love my son and that's all I need to know.. I can tell how your relationship is between you two, just by listening to you two talk together and I couldn't approve of you more. I'm so sorry for the way my chosen mate and King has been acting throughout all of this.. and I have completely objected to all of this, I promise, because none of this is right. You both deserve to have each other and I will do anything to help out." She says to me hugging me again and I willingly accept her love it's a nice feeling to have a motherly embrace.. never experienced that before.

"Thanks.. Margaret.. or mom.. that's very sweet of you." I say to her as she hugs me tighter. " Ok I'll tell them that Ronan is sleeping to give you guys sometime alone but the people will be in here bright and early to start getting him ready just a warning.. so keep it down and you won't have to worry about anything until morning." She says as she seperates from me and hands me the plate of food for Ronan. Then she takes her leave, shutting the door behind her, making it just the two of us in here. I set the plate down on his nightstand by his bed.

I turn and look down at him as he smiles but I see tears forming in his eyes again, I walk to his side sitting back down by him in his bed. "How do I break these or I can steal the keys to get you out.. wait I could try to pick them." I say to him as he shakes his head. "They will hopefully let me out of them in the morning for the wedding." He says to me as I groan. "No baby I can't leave you like this." I respond hating seeing him like this in this awful situation and also in pain.. no one deserves that. "But you have to my love because if you get me out now, guess who will be blamed for it? My mother, because she was the last one in here that they know of and I don't want her to be involved in the blame at all. She is too sweet for any of that." He explains to me and I completely understand but that doesn't mean I like it.

"But I hate seeing you chained up like this.. it just makes me want to murder everyone who did this to you." I declare as I hear purring again coming from him. "That's one of the sexiest things you have said to me.. I love how you look right now and your protectiveness over me." He says to me as I shake my head and grin at him.

"I don't know how you always make me smile even in this situation.. You're unbelievable Ro." I respond to him as he smiles back at me. "It's easy with you around.. So what's this amazing plan of yours?" He asks me as I groan and reply pretty quickly.

"I don't exactly have one I just knew my best shot was going to be when they released you to take you to the wedding and I would just take you from there and by all the weapons you can tell I was planning on using them if need be.. and your friends and family said they would be my back up if I needed them.. so I was just going to go in and take you with guns maybe blazing.." I explain to him as he chuckles gaining my attention because I love the sound of his laugh.

"I can't believe you would do all that for me." He says to me as I scoff again and playfully hit his chest. "Of course I would do that for you. I would do anything for you.. You're my mate and my only one. You're mine and mine alone. No one is going to take you from me and if they try they will have me to deal with." I declare at him as I can tell he is liking that comment.

"Seriously you're so sexy right now.. I keep thinking you can't get sexier and you somehow do get sexier every single time.. thank you my lovely mate.. you don't know what this means to me." I smile and nod at his comment as I lean in and press my lips to his. Just needing to taste him in this moment to confirm I'm not dreaming.

He moans into my lips, making our kiss deeper than we ever expected in this situation. My hand trails around his head and through his hair pulling his lips more into mine making the kiss last longer just like I love.

I break our kiss then gently kissing the tip of his nose then leaning back up. I grab a peice of food from the plate and feeding him it. He chews it, then swallows. Then smirks at me as he says, "I could really get use to this.. You know, when we get out of here.. you should wear that outfit and feed me in it everyday.. I would love that."

I scoff at that comment as I playfully slap his chest responding, "You wish you dirty dirty dog." I say even more flirtatiously. "If I wasn't chained up, I would show you how dirty of a dog I could be." He purrs back as I bite my lip and feeding him more.

Once the plate is finished off looking completely empty.. I set it down as I lay down next to him, snuggling up into his side, holding him tight. I feel better hearing his heartbeat. The sound is calming in itself, that I feel my heart synchronizing with his. I intertwine my legs around his as I can now hear his breath evening out which means he is probably asleep now or close to it. I don't know when it happened but I drift off into a much needed stress relieving sleep with my mate in my arms.

I'm woke up to the sound of someone playing with the lock on the door. I jump up alerting the both of us instantly to what is happening.

I look up at him and whisper. "I will get you out of this please trust me my love.. I will try my best to get out without a fight but no guarantees. I love you baby." I say kissing his lips as I jump off the bed "I love you too baby please be careful." He says so sweetly but just as softly to me and I run into the closet to hide away from whoever is coming in the room.

"Alright son good morning. Hope you got some sleep at least, because I need you to be up and ready to go for today.. it should be a wonderful celebration with your new chosen mate." I'm assuming his father says to him as I hear Ronan retorting. "How about you just shoot me now.. because that would be better and I would welcome that more than the marriage with that wretched woman.. you saw how she acted the other night she is crazy and not what I want at all.. not even remotely.. I meant it when I told her father I won't be able to even get hard for his daughter.. I would rather just kill myself then marry her let alone mate with her.."

"Don't.. you need to stop fighting this because your Goddess given mate is a weak little human and could not sufficiently take care of a pack let alone herself.. I can't have an orphan human as our pack leader.. sorry but it's not happening I have to put my pack first and she is not in their best interest." He retorts back at him as Ronan gets even more mad spatting back at him. "Don't you act like you even remotely know her or even gave her a chance before shutting her down, the Moon Goddess chose her for me for a reason.. you don't know the amazing person she is and what she could do for our pack and I know you will regret this.. maybe not today but someday and soon you will regret it."

"Son this is a contract we signed a while ago.. and after your brother left they really started pushing the contract more with you.. her father really admires you and wants you to be the one to marry her.. It's because of your battle skills.. but they have gone out of their way to hire someone that I don't exactly approve of to make sure this goes through and if it doesn't things can get bad quick.. this whole situation is better for the pack." He tries to explain as Ronan scoffs and asks, "Good for everyone but me and my mate.. who could he have possibly hired to make sure the wedding goes through that would have the King this freaked out?"

"He hired Bullseye to make sure everything goes through. He is very serious about this but I can't trust that Bullseye won't kill us the first chance he gets so I'm nervous.. even since he always has his favorite weapon with him. I can't put the packs lives in jeopardy because you want to be with your mate." He explains in detail more as Ronan replies without hesitation. "What the hell?! That's crazy to bring that man here he won't stick to the deal he is a backstabbing Vampire and once he sees me he will probably kill me instantly because he wants my mate for himself."

"Well then let him have her you have Rose now." He says as if I mean nothing to Ronan, like it's not even a remotely big deal.

"No f*#king way in hell would I give her up to him! I don't want Rose I want Ember.. that's all." He yells at his father.

What am I going to do with Archer's crew here... that makes things way more complicated then expected and he might see me coming or even take over the ceremony or like Ronan said.. he might just try to kill him if he had the chance.. I can't let that happen. It won't as long as I have anything to say about it.

"Too bad Ronan now get up.. I'm going to help you get dressed and ready for today." He says as I realize I'm in the closet he needs to get into. So I wedge myself into the back corner behind the already open door, in hopes he doesn't need to get back here.

I can hear his feet approaching as he enters the closet. I can see his father looking around until he stops in his tracks and sniffing around for a second.. I hold my breath just hoping he won't notice me please don't notice me.. I hope I still smell enough like Ronan that he can't smell me.. He shrugs his shoulders and grabbing a tux, button up shirt, along with a tie, underwear and socks then luckily leaving the closet. I let out a wavering breath that he luckily didn't notice me because of my black outfit and the shadows I'm hiding in.

I hear them undoing his chains and getting him dressed and ready in almost no time at all. "Come on son and remember if you don't marry Rose or try to run away I WILL kill Ember, with no hesitation." He says to try to motivate Ronan to go as he spats back, "You couldn't kill her on your best day Da." I smile at that as I hear the door slamming shut behind them and I can tell they are walking down the hall. I let out a big breath because that was close.. now I need to figure out a way to get there without being seen.
