FATHER'S FANGS & THE UNCHAINED STAR**

690 Words
The scent of his father's magic—sulfur and stormwind—choked Kael's lungs as he staggered to his feet. Before him, the true Demon Lord uncoiled from his bone throne, his massive shadow stretching across the cavern to where Elara floated in her cage. "Did you think," his father rumbled, golden eyes gleaming with cruel amusement, "that Vareth was ever more than my jailer?" His claws flexed, making the celestial chains around Elara's parents rattle. "All these years, my brother played the villain... while Lirae played the saint." Elara's mother—still alive after all this time—lifted her head weakly. "Kael...?" Her wildflower eyes, so like her daughter's, widened. "The hybrid prince? But Lirae swore you were—" "Dead?" The Demon Lord's laugh shook the cavern. "Oh no, little time-walker. My son is very much alive. And right on schedule." Kael's claws dug into his palms. "What the hells does that mean?" Above them, the merged Elara's silent scream intensified, her body flickering between human and something... *more*. --- The Demon Lord yanked his chains, dragging Elara's parents forward like grotesque puppets. "Lirae's grand design required three things: A time-walker strong enough to unravel fate. A demon lord willing to play prisoner." His gaze locked onto Kael. "And a hybrid prince stupid enough to fall in love with both halves of the weapon." Kael's blood ran cold. His father grinned. "Vareth raised you to hate me. Lirae let you 'discover' Elara. All so you'd deliver her here—*whole*—when the celestial alignment peaked." He gestured to the floating Elara, whose hair had turned to living flame. "Behold... the key to the Godslayer's prison." A thunderous *c***k* echoed through the cavern as Elara's back arched violently. From her shoulder blades, twin protrusions tore through flesh—one feathered and silver, the other leathery and black. *Wings.* --- Memories not her own detonated behind Elara's eyes: —*Herself as a babe, drawing first breath not in the Abyss but in Celestara's highest tower*— —*Lirae's hands stitching her soul into two vessels—one human, one demon*— —*The truth: She was never mortal at all, but a living lock, forged to contain the Godslayer sleeping beneath the realms*— The pain of merging paled against this revelation. She was *made*, not born. A construct of celestial cunning and demonic hunger. And Kael... Her newly merged gaze found him just as his father's claws closed around his throat. "Watch, son," the Demon Lord crooned. "Watch your love become the monster you feared." --- The hybrid prince did something then that no demon, no wolf, no celestial had ever done before. He *laughed*. Black blood dripped from his fangs as he grinned up at his father. "You arrogant bastard. You think I didn't know?" With a roar, Kael *pulled* his father into the deadly embrace, letting the demon lord's claws sink deeper. "I've spent every day of my life resisting the monster in my blood," he gasped. "But for her?" His hands found the celestial chains binding Elara's parents. "I'll *burn*." Hellfire erupted from Kael's veins—not the orange-red of his demon half, but the pure black of a star's death. The chains shattered. Elara's mother moved faster than thought, her time-walker hands plunging into the Demon Lord's back. "For our daughter," she whispered. And *twisted*. --- Elara's wings snapped wide as the cavern imploded. Silver and black energy erupted from her in a supernova, swallowing her parents, the Demon Lord, even Kael— —but where it should have destroyed, it *healed*. Kael's father screamed as the celestial magic *unmade* him stitch by stitch. Lirae's voice shrieked from above, her threads snapping one by one. And Elara... Elara *remembered*. Not just the past, but the future—the thousand paths branching from this moment. She saw: —*Kael kneeling over her corpse in one*— —*The realms burning in another*— —*And in the faintest, most fragile thread... A sanctuary where monsters and angels drank together under the same moon*— Her wings wrapped around Kael as the world ended. ---
