Meikah stared into Kellan’s eyes, seeing the lightning in her own reflected back at her from his. She placed a hand on his chest, trying to tell herself to push him away. Beneath her hand his heart beat a little faster than usual and her plans to push him away evaporated. Her gaze slowly lowered, momentarily resting on his lips before returning to his eyes. “It’s a terrible idea.” The words sounded thoroughly unconvincing.
