14Chapter Fourteen Meikah walked beside Kellan, wanting to ask him if the night seemed quieter. It didn’t take her long to spot several hooded figures trailing after them. A scan of the area had her counting the ones she’d spotted. Eight hooded figures followed them. At the start of the dock, Kellan turned to the left, away from the noise of the taverns and towards darker and quieter areas. “What are you doing?” If the hooded figures hadn’t been so close she would have told him they needed to head towards crowds, not away from them. “Finding a nice quiet place to ask a few questions.” Kellan grinned, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. Dread settled over her. How were the two of them meant to take on eight attackers? Or possibly more. For all she knew there were ones she’d miss
