Meikah drew in a sharp breath. Surely it couldn’t be the director. But that was no worse than it being the King. “No one would believe us. Why would the director risk his position to do something so illegal?”
“Power,” Kellan said. “There are many powerful potions and spells that can be created with dragon parts.”
“You think Galzeren’s dead?” Meikah’s gaze was drawn to the claw marks gouged into the walls of the cave. It didn’t seem fair they’d gone after him while he’d been vulnerable. Even in his weakened state he’d fought so hard.
“That depends on what parts of him they’re using,” Kellan said.
“So he could be alive?” Meikah held her breath until Kellan nodded, relief rushing through her as she breathed out. “We need to find him while there’s a chance he lives.”
