23Chapter Twenty-Three Meikah’s gaze was drawn to each of the guards she could see. She counted thirty of them before she stopped counting. There had to be easily double that. “How do you know that’s not the typical amount of guards that manor houses have in this area?” Kellan grinned, glancing at Shade. “Oh, he’d know.” “We don’t have time for this. We need to find a way inside and see if we can find Galzeren,” Shade said.
