The Perfect Project Partner

Chapter 2

After I reached home , I fixed myself a sandwich. I was alone at home as mom and dad were at work and Jack went to his friend's house . I had two hours before my shift at ' Randy's' . Its a small dinner which is really famous in our town as according to old people's saying in our town it's the place where most of the love stories began or one can say its the perfect place for first date. I started working there an year ago and work for four days a week. It was really difficult for me to convince my parents to let me work as they are really protective for me and they say they earn enough so I don't need to work. But I wanted to be independent and have some money of my own and it feels really good to have your own money.

one and a half hour later after having my sandwich and doing some Home work that I got from school , I got ready and made my way towards "Randy's" . It just takes me ten minutes to reach my destination in my car. I quickly got behind the counter and started working, as it was already bustling.

"Hey , there bunny" Liam ,my co-worker greeted me . He is also a senior in same school as mine. "Hey, Liam " I replied him enthusiastically because I was happy to be back at work , after my two week break. " How was your break, did you miss me?" he asked me wiggling his eyebrows."You wish Liam." I said , rolling my eyes at him. "You wound me bunny." He replied dramatically by keeping his hand on his chest. " Because I intended to." I told him cheekily. "You are evil." He said me wide eyed. "You should know that by now." I said him with a grin and he grinned back at me. We were interrupted by someone clearing his throat. Liam and I , we both turned around to attend the costumer. But I regretted turing around as my new project ' partner' was standing there with a beautiful pink haired girl next to him." If you both are done flirting , we would like to order then." Andrew said with a smirk. "What we do is none of your business." I told him with a glare. The pink hair girl next to him stared between him and I confusingly . " What would you both like to have" Liam asked them breaking my and Andrew's starting contest. "We would have one red sauce pasta , two hamburgers with some fries and one strawberry milkshake and one chocolate milkshake." Andrew replied him in one go, as if he have orders it many times before. Liam went to the kitchen to give the order and I made the inventory in the computer and made their bill. As in "Randy's" payment is made with order only. Andrew gave me $20 note and I gave him his change back. "Your order will be ready in ten minutes." Liam came back and told them. " Thank you " the girl next to him said with a smile , at least she has some manner's I said under my breath . But Andrew heard it as he turned to look at me . And I just smiled innocently at him. " Come on lets find a place to sit." The pink haired girl said with taking Andrew's hand in hers and dragging him away. Rest of my shift went hustling and bustling as it was quite a busy day.But despite that I saw Andrew and the girl with him talking intimately and laughing now and then and as they left the diner hand in hand with girls head resting on his bisep.

When I went back home , mom and dad were dancing while preparing dinner . It is a routine that they both cook dinner together and sometimes like today they started dancing in middle of preparing it. I just stood there and saw them dancing. It feels really good to see my parents so in love with each other. I sometimes wonder, if one day I would have someone to love me like my father loves my mother. Which in my opinion is impossible as I never had a boyfriend. "Charlotte , you are here, what are you doing standing there ,come on in." my mother says with a sparkle in her eyes dispite a long day at work, as she saw me. I smiled and made my way towards them. My dad then took my hand in his and started dancing with me while singing the song and twirled me around the kitchen making me laugh out loud.

Mom finished cooking dinner and we all ate while discussing about our day and making fun of each other as we do every day.

After dinner we watched netflix for about an hour together and then I went to my room and packed my things for the next day because I like being prepared beforehand than doing things at the last minute. Then I went to bed with my lasted novel that I started reading recently and read till it was difficult for me to keep my eyes open and slept a dreamless sleep after a hectic day after two weeks.
