Chapter Twenty-Seven As I lay on the grimy concrete, body aching and head pounding, I glanced to the fire exit door that had just closed behind me where faint, cheesy rock music piped from inside. How had it come to this? I’d already stolen a motorcycle, visited a strip club and got into a fistfight. If this was my midlife crisis, it was ticking all the boxes. I was alone now.
