Chapter 7

The next day I go to work and it’s a good day I spend most of my shift looking at the door willing Carlo to come in but sadly he doesn’t and every time the bell goes off my heart jumps just thinking it might be him. The good thing is that I am working with Ash again so it does make the day better.

“ hay girl can you please quit looking at the door you jump every time it opens” Ash teases me.

“ I know I just keep thinking that it might be him and I miss him but I don’t want to text him because I don’t want to be that needy girl you know?”

“ girl be needy show your real feelings because you never know he might be feeling the same way about you too!”

“ your probably right I’ll text him tonight after work.” Then I quickly change the subject “ so how is school?” Ash is smart like really smart she is going to school to be a doctor and working her way through school.

“ school is good today we were learning about genetics and it was so cool and interesting and don’t think I don’t know what you are doing trying to distract me” she laughs and then she goes on to tell me about her class today and what she learned about and I take it my distraction worked.

After we get off and close up the restaurant we walk together to our cars “ goodnight chica” I shout over my car to Ash

“ see ya later love” and we both get in our cars And when I turn the radio on tequila make her clothes fall off comes on and I blast it and belt out the whole song on my way home.

When I get home there is 3 dozen roses, a box of chocolate and a cute little green stuffed tiger delivered on my porch. I take the card from the roses and it reads

Mi amor

I apologize for having to leave so fast yesterday and not making it back today, but it looks like I will be back tomorrow afternoon so I will see you soon mija

Oh my god this man sure knows how to apologize and make me smile. I text him a quick message as I go inside with everything setting it down on the table

Me: thank you so much for the flowers and candy and the little tiger, you are forgiven <3

Carlo: absolutely anything for you gorgeous ;)

I open the box of chocolate and sit on the counter munching on them and drinking a bottle of water and then I get a devious idea.

So I grab the green tiger and head to bed I decide I’m going to send him one last message and I take my clothes off and lay in bed I put the tiger so he is covering my n*****s and I snap a picture and send it with the caption I guess you’re tiger got in my bed before you I’ll be thinking about you ;) and I fall sleep.

The next day I still haven’t heard back from Carlo yet when I start my 3pm shift. So I’m kinda disappointed and just trudging through my shift not my normal happy bubbly self, but I’m an hour in when I look out and see that it’s sundown it was surprisingly sunny here today, so I go flick on the lights on the building sign before going to make more coffee.

About 30 minutes later I hear the bell for the door and I yell “ I’ll be there in a minute” and I turn back to picking up the cups from the bottom shelf when I feel hands on my ass, I jerk up and turn to slap whoever it is and my hand almost meets my mr mysterious’s cheek but he catches it just inches from his face. I am mortified.

“Well that’s not the warm welcome I had in mind but, I am glad you have great defenses” then he releases my hand and reaches behind me and pulls me to his hard chest. Just this little closeness makes me warm all over so I lean in and give him a quick peck on the cheek “ that’s better mija”

“ I actually missed you”

“And I you. Also your in big trouble do you know how hard it was for me to concentrate on anything but you when you sent me that picture” I smile then the bell on the door rings again so reluctantly I push away, we make our way back to the front and I set the customers up and get them some menus and drinks then head to the counter to get Carlo his tea.

“So are you ever going to get anything other than tea?” I say with a wink

“I know what I would like to have” that little sentence sends a little shock wave all the way to my core and I have to clench my thighs together. Man I’m going to have to learn to control myself around him because this is getting bad. “ would you like to see me tonight when you get off?” There he is giving me the option to say no.

“ absolutely I’m off at 11, do you want to meet at my house or here?”

“ your house is perfect say 11:30” I shake my head yes and he goes out the door so I run and get the order from my table and put it in with the cook and I go to the counter and see Carlo forgot his wallet so I grab it and head out to see if I can catch him

I yell a quick “ Ash I’m running outside for a minute I’ll be back” I see his z4 in the parking lot so I go up to the windows and nock on the window because they are tinted super dark.

The window rolls down “ hay you forgot” and then I see in the middle Consol the to go cup I give him every day with a blood bag in it. I throw the wallet in the window and run. Omg omg what the f**k what the actual f**k. My mind is going in a thousand ways why did he have a blood bag and what is he doing with it. I am almost to the back entrance of the restaurant when I feel arms around me and I start to scream and a hand covers my mouth. I’m pushed into the back wall of the restaurant by Carlo of course the wall is cold and damp. I keep trying to fight him off but he is so strong I don’t even make the slightest movement.

“Tranquila calm down it’s okay please I won’t hurt you mi amor” he keeps mumbling for me to calm down but I just keep struggling and trying to get away then I start to feel faint and everything is going dark and sounds far away then it’s just black.
