Chapter One   Fear and love can both have a strange affect on your heart; both can make it miss a beat for different reasons. Three young schoolboys nearly managed a drum roll of missed beats as they saw the notorious Angel Posse, one of the most feared gangs in their area walking towards them. The three looked at each other as they felt the blood drain from each of their already pale complexions. Angelic faced Luke was first to speak in a nervous tone “Shall we make a run for it?” Darren already shaking with fear stammered out “I think the best thing to do is just front things out and cross over the road and walk on quickly and hope they don’t pick on us.” Finally, Jason, the third and most street-wise of the three pulled out his mobile phone “I’m going to ring my mum or the police. If they think help is on the way they might not touch us.” Too late, the Angel posse was now surrounding them and Errol, the gang’s tall black leader grabbed Jason’s phone. “Nice phone, good of you to bring it along for my birthday present.”  “Please let me have my phone back?” begged Jason. Errol immediately got angry at the thought of anyone daring to speak back to him. “Ras clart boy, are you telling me you don’t respect my birthday. Maybe I’m gonna have to teach your body some manners with my newly acquired D M boots.” He punctuated his words with a menacing teeth sucking sound. Deepak, an Asian member of the gang pulled out a very sharp looking knife and waved it at the other two petrified schoolboys and started to badly rap his request “Give me your mobiles and make it quick, they call me the tax collector because I hold this stick and if you don’t pay your tax with a mobile phone I will slice you up and make you sick and all alone and residing in the dead zone.” Just as the remaining two boys handed over their phones a police car appeared at the bottom of the road. The gang notice this and freeze. The three schoolboys then see this as an opportunity to run, so they take off down a walkway that leads to a graveyard. Jason and Darren make it through the graveyard and jump over a wall but Luke slips over and falls onto a grave sending the books from his bag scattering onto the grave. He dusts himself down quickly and starts to pick up his books. Just as he reaches out for the last one, a horror novel, ‘Mixing with the Unknown’ a hand shoots up from the grave and grabs his wrist.
