“Sorry, mate. But I don't trust you,” Jordan shot back, not retreating.
Mercer ran a hand down his hair. “That was so long ago. I didn't sell him out. How many times do I have to say that? I got captured too. Did I plan that too?”
“When have you been true in your life?” Jordan asked.
Mercer's whole face tightened with real anger. “Now you take that back. I never betrayed our family. Let me remind you that you're an outsider and I'm the family here. You should learn how to speak to me.”
“That's enough,” Jax commanded, voice low and final. “Jordan isn't a stranger.”

Jax cut him off sharp. “He's been with me longer than anyone and an insult to him is an insult to me. You'll watch how you speak to him.”
