Nova's POV
Jax froze, completely flabbergasted. I scooped up another spoonful, offering him a bright, sweet smile. "Swallow it. Don't make me bring out my other methods or you'll be crying by the time you're done eating."
He clamped his teeth together, chewing the thick cake. The second he pushed it to the back of his throat, he made a loud, guttural puking noise, pushing his tongue forward.
I slammed my palm completely over his mouth. I leaned down, pointing my index finger directly between his eyes. I pulled my eyebrows together, narrowing my gaze. "Don't even think about it."
NEXT DAY
The heavy tires of the black SUV crunched over the gravel driveway. Jax, completely healed and out of his bandages, sat in the backseat beside me, his large frame taking up most of the space.
