"Jax..." A deep voice called. "Jax"
I opened my eyes, shock running down my veins. My gaze fixed on what was before me. I wasn't in the mansion. I was out in the wild, my bare feet touching the grass.
"How could this happen?" I muttered, my mind filled with a maze of puzzles. Nothing seemed to ease the growing confusion I felt.
"Jax..." The voice whispered.
I turned, scared and heard it again. "Jax..."
"Who's there?" My voice echoed and the eerie whispers continued. No one responded.
The cold wind hit my skin, and I pushed my hand over my arms rubbing to get warm.
