182 Words
Cami squirmed in her seat at the unexpected direction her new job was taking, she looked around, briefly, at the other patrons only to see a smirk of amusement on the face of the man opposite her. He disengaged his eyes, pretending absolute concentration on his newspaper, but Cami had seen his expression. He must have heard it all, saw her sighing and shrugging over her email. Cami couldn't, it seemed, be less than an object of fun wherever she went. That's about to stop, here and now! She resolved optimistically. Bundling up her stuff Cami flounced out of the bistro with new found energy. The day was clear and bright, she forced a skip into her step and allowed herself to look forward to telling Mario all about it. He would be thrilled. Glamour was most certainly his thing. She sped up to his apartment in their building's roomy elevator to be greeted at his door by his exuberant Yorkie, the dog adored her, lavishing excited smooches on her snout when she bent down to return his springy, circling insistent "Hello".
