Elena POV
Victoria's sister, Vanessa was funding the genetic research organization and I couldn't make sense of it, couldn't understand why Adrian's great-aunt would spend thirty years manipulating his family.
"We need to talk to your mother," I said to Adrian. "She might know why her sister is doing this."
"My mother is in a care facility, she's been there for years." Adrian looked uncertain. "I don't even know if she'd remember me."
"But she might remember Vanessa." I looked at him. "And she might know what happened between them that was bad enough to get Vanessa erased from all the family records."
Adrian was quiet for a moment. "You're right, we need to try."
"Can you travel?" I asked because he'd only been walking with a cane for two weeks now and I didn't know if he was strong
