CHAPTER 7 Her First Phone

“My phone number.”

Samantha waves the paper written her number in front of my eyes zoning more out of the confusing thoughts.

“How did you get the mobile in few minutes? Just fifteen minutes before you have a crying face you don’t have mobile like others now you walked in with the latest model mobile phone, which one is this.”

I snatched the mobile phone from her hand and have a draft look phone iPhone 12 Pro. The latest one, even I don’t have this model yet.

“I was not being, ok?”

I was looking at the phone when she snatched it back with the wrong expressions on her face. Did u hurt her? Hmm, maybe.

William just looks at her attitude. Since the day she burst out on you in the school, this timid ugly lizard started turning bold.

I always wanted her to be bold and stand for herself. Huh, so what, here in the office I am her boss, she has to be polite to me and most important she needs to respect me.

I was in my thoughts when she once again waves the paper written on her number in front of my eyes, slammed it on my table, and walked out of my cabin before even I can say anything to her.

That ugly lizard was showing dare to me, I have to teach her who is the boss here. Still, how did a penniless girl like her who has never seen a mobile phone in her life let alone a smartphone, then how did she get the latest iPhone which even I don’t have?

The moment I entered the general manager’s cabin and saw William in front of me as my boss, I thought I walked into hell for sure, especially after our last end up between fierce moments.

He is a long-lasting enemy of mine, and at least his evil smirk when assistant Andrew didn’t let him bully me also has a hidden message he will make my time difficult in this office.

‘Oh goddess moon, why did you do this to me, why you make me ran into this devil William once again that too in the most important inning of my life.’

That devil started bullying me the first day itself. He gave me bucks of papers to type; I wanted to kill him with my bare hands.

I walked towards my cabin, which William asked, that it will be mine, and received a surprise.

I saw a box of iPhone for the real for the first time in my life, but why is it here. I opened it and couldn’t help but screamed.

iPhone 12 Pro, I have seen many people using many phones some are usually simple or some expensive smartphone, even back in the packhouse everybody used to carry a smartphone, but I could not even touch it.

For the first time, I’m actually seeing the real smartphone in my hand, Rose pink color, so beautiful.

My excitement was not ending after all I am touching and feeling a smartphone for the first time in my life.

“Tring, Tring, Tring.”

Oh s**t, it’s running, it’s ringing.

I was so drowned with my excitement of touching a smartphone first time in my life that I forgot that is my first day at my job and my boss asked me for some work.

‘Is this phone belongs to the office, and that’s why this is in the cabin, hmm, correct, must be William is calling to ask about.’

It scared me to receive the call, but it gives my fast beating heart ease when I received the phone and heard president Robert’s voice at the other end of the call.

“Miss Samantha, it's Dylan.” Dylan Gilbert said.

“Good morning, President Gilbert,” I greeted respectfully.

“Miss Samantha because I know you don’t have a mobile phone, so this one is for you. I wrote the number on the paper.”

Mobile phone for me?

Oh my god, I was thrilled again, but no, I have to control my emotions.

Why will I take a mobile phone from my boss with no work that too a most expensive one?

‘Remember Samantha, dad used to say there is no free lunch in this world.’

I reminded myself and politely answered President Gilbert.

“That’s so generous of you, President Gilbert, but I am sorry I can’t take this.”

I wanted to say many more things, but as usual, I couldn’t express myself.

“That’s not exceptional for you. They provided every employee of Gilbert industries with a phone so that we can contact them anytime when we’re we want.”

Oh, that’s the matter, then it’s alright I have to follow the company’s protocol.

“Oh, is that? Then thank you so much.”

“Don’t be so formal. By the way, how is your first day at work, I hope everything is fine with you, have you adjusted?”

Ahh, I still messed my first day up, I met the most horrible nightmare of mine just on the first day of work, and his what; he is my boss.

No matter, his much I want, I can’t say this to President Gilbert William is still my senior in the company, so what if he is no good as president Gilbert who is asking about me so sweetly?

“Yeh, it’s fine,” I answered.

“Alright, focus on your work, if you will do well I will consider your promotion great in the future. I won’t your time anymore, I will hang up first.”

President Gilbert hung up the call, so I am. He is a nice and gentleman.

I wish my work could be in his team rather than this villain William.

Oh, yes, this villain William was making fun of me when I said I don’t have a mobile phone. Let me give him my number and show him my new phone. I gazed at the paper I found inside the mobile’s box and memorized it.

I saw the priceless expressions on William’s face when he saw my new phone. He was surely in a daze with the thought that how would I get the phone so fast.

‘The villain William this the result of a good impression on the President of the company I got the phone from the company just after fifteen minutes of joining the company. At least here I am luckier than you I have President Gilbert’s good impression on me.’

William’s expressions made me laugh inwardly, and I have decided I will get bold and didn’t let William built me anymore in the officer. Also, if he will pick up a fight with me, then I will complain to President Gilbert.

After laughing at William and decide on his to deal with him in the future, I once again walked into the cabin and begin the work given by my boss.

When I brought Samantha to New Orleans with me, I knew she could have nothing with her and she will not even take my help just like that. After all, she is the daughter of self-respected parents, but I have to do it.

I didn’t bring her with me just to give her a job to make her hard work alternatively; I wanted to change her life by every means. From house to her lifestyle, in having to give her everything.

Gilbert industries never have a company dorm, but I have to be created it for her just in two days. Now she is living in a pleasant house with her raised chin. I knew it when I will give her a mobile phone she will deny that’s why I lied we provide mobile phones you every employee, it’s the company’s protocol.

The truth: I not only want this to give her phone, but I hide a secret tracking device inside her phone so that I can track her whereabouts if she is in trouble. After all, she has lots of enemies and she is oblivious of them.

I have even decided that I’ve she will complete her eighteenth I will arrange someone to train her as a strong and brave worried v warrior werewolf like her parents.

Hmm, before that I wanted to fulfill her one deep drown wish and I have sent my assistant Andrew to her cabin.

Samantha was busy with her work when she heard a knock on her cabin and lift her head to see Andrew entering her cabin.

“Assistant Andrew?”

Samantha immediately stood up. The cabin, the office world is everything new for her, she is from a different world.

Andrew walked forward and placed a booklet in front of her.

“President Gilbert sent this for you, he asked you this have a look and talk to her after work.”

Andrew finished his work views over his head in respect and walked out of her cabin, leaving confused Samantha being.

“What is that?”

Samantha mumbled, and took the booklet in her hand to read the title ‘University of New Orleans’, ‘Prospectus.’

Samantha’s eyes widened. After seeing the enrollment form of the University of New Orleans. Which was sent by President Gilbert for me?

‘Ahh, I can’t believe it, am I going to enroll in the University?’

‘One minute, why is president Gilbert is doing so much for me, this is not what all the employees of Gilbert industries will get, why me?’
