Big man, small D

Evie Loud laughter filled the room, waking me from the best sleep I've ever had. I slowly opened my eyes, forgetting where I was. It took me a minute to realize that my world was rocked a few hours ago. I looked down and I couldn't stop the smile from appearing on my face. Adonis was peacefully sleeping, a faint smile curving his lips. My eyes traveled down his strong chest, to his chiseled abs, right down to his, oh my goddess, I've got to go. I jumped up, wrapping the blanket around my waist, but since I'm a klutz, I hit the ground with a loud thud. The laughter suddenly stopped and Adonis jumped off the couch. Thank goddess he was wearing his basketball shorts. I wouldn't want his situation poking any bodies eye out. "Evie darlin? Is that you?" Yandy said, her southern drawl thicker with the alcohol flooding her system. I wanted the ground to swallow me whole as the group rushed into the living room. "Oh my goddess! Donnie! You were bleeding!" Klaus slurred dramatically rushing (and tripping) to Adonis' side. Confusion covered his face, and for a second I was happy for the distraction. Just for a second though. Panic filled my body to think that Adonis was hurt, until I realized what Klaus was talking about. Klaus hands hovered over the small patches of dried blood on Adonis shoulders, then he turned him around to reveal multiple claw marks littered across Adonis' back. Some were in fact deeper than others and begun to scab over. My face turned beet red as Klaus realized what it was from. "Ohhh" He exclaimed, more giddy than usual. "Baby doll!" He rushed to my side and gave me a tight hug. He reeked of fruity drinks. When he pulled me back, a frown suddenly tugged at his lips. He pushed my head to the side and pulled the collar of my shirt to my shoulder. His touch kind of felt like he was grazing a lighter over my skin. It wasn't a pleasant feeling and confusion began to cloud my brain. "Klaus what the hell?" Adonis roared, rushing to us as Klaus repeated the action on my other side. "You didn't mark her. What the hell is wrong with you? You big oaf!" Klaus yelled, slapping Adonis chest. I couldn't stop the giggle that emerged. He looked like a three year old throwing a tantrum. "Klaus, baby, don't you think that's a little personal?" Adam gently asked, stumbling towards us. He gently took Klaus hands in his trying to calm him down. But Klaus was having none of that. "You deserve her Donnie! The pack needs a luna!" Klaus stomped while still swatting at Adonis chest. He seemed completely unaffected by his little brothers antics by the way. He rolled his eyes, and patiently waited for Klaus to finish. "Every body gather round now" Yandy declared, successfully creating a diversion. "I thought we were reading palms" she said taking a seat at the island. "Reading palms?" I asked. "Yandy's a reader! They're quite rare." Kitty said excitedly, picking a chair across from Yandy. Adonis had a look of confusion across his face as Klaus squealed and raced back to the kitchen. "A reader is a fortune teller of sorts. She can see someone's past, present or future by touching palms. Shocking that she's one though. They're usually really sensitive to touch, they can get bits of someone's life just by rubbing elbows with them. And Yandy is quite the touchy feely type" I explained with a smile. I didn't know Yandy was a reader. Could that mean I'm a reader too since I'm her twin? I don't make a habit of touching strangers, but before Adonis, I've never felt anything when I touched someone. Maybe I don't have a special gift like she does. I'm probably just a regular human and she's the gifted twin. "I can hear the storm brewing" Adonis whispered in my ear, breaking me from my thoughts. I jumped at his closeness and he let out a low chuckle that warmed my heart. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close so he could kiss my forehead. I melted in his embrace for a second and looked to see everyone sitting in the kitchen. Then he caught my eye, Terrance. I instantly felt uneasy as his eyes slowly traveled to mine. He smirked and it made me like him even less. Adonis eyes traveled to where mine were looking, but Terrance had already turned his attention back to Yandy. "Hey," Adonis said softly, lifting my chin so I could look at him. "What's wrong?" I shook my head, hoping the feelings of dislike would fade. But in the pit of my gut, I knew there was something off about him. My gut has never been wrong before, but for now I plan on enjoying our last night at the villa. Come tomorrow morning, I'll have to escape quietly and leave all this behind. Sorrow tugged at my heart and Adonis' frown deepened. "My love-" he began before I wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head on his chest. He wanted to push for an answer but instead he wrapped his arms around me, squeezing gently. A chorus of "awes" filled the room and I felt my face heat up in embarrassment. Adonis lifted my chin up and looked in my eyes, silently telling me this conversation wasn't over. But instead of probing, he gently led me to the kitchen with everyone else. "I see you all had a good time" I smiled at the group who were all at various points of drunk ness. Adam had on a pair of sunglasses (it's probably close to three in the morning, no sun to be seen) Klaus was sitting on his lap, loudly reading everyone to filth while slurring his words. Yandy's hair was wild and her shoes were missing as she swayed in her seat, obviously dancing to a song only she could hear. Kitty was giggling and hiccuping while Terrance leaned slightly to whisper in her ear. When his gaze drifted to mine he gave another cocky smile that made me shiver in disgust. Adonis sat on one of the bar stools at the island and pulled me to his lap. At first I felt uncomfortable but no one seemed to notice so I relaxed a bit and put my hair back into a messy bun. "Okay, okay. Let's get this show on the road. Who's first?" Yandy said holding her palms upwards, the tattoos of eyes on full display. "Me! Me!" Klaus squealed. "Wait, how accurate is this?" he said raising a eyebrow. "Well hun, she did tell me years ago that I was going to marry royalty" Adam said, with a boyish smile across his face. Klaus giggled and turned to face Yandy. "Okay, I'm ready, how does this work?" He asked reaching over to Yandy. "Just place your palms on mine sugar, and let me do the talking" Yandy slurred, her southern drawl making everything she said sound smooth and charming. Klaus placed his hands on Yandy's and sat stone still. Yandy closed her eyes and a small smile spread across her face. "Your brother loves you" she said smiling. Klaus' smile got impossibly bigger as he looked over to Adonis, who flashed one of his oh so rare smiles. He looked at his brother with so much pride and love, it made my heart swell. "Oh, you take after your mama. She was the original diva though .... Queen Bey" she said in a teasing tone. "Oh my goddess! No one has called me that since I was ten!" Klaus exclaimed as his face twisted in embarrassment. "Oh I've got to hear the story behind that name!" Adam said, turning quickly to Adonis and then Kitty. "Oh! We'll have to get the crew together and they can dish" Kitty giggled. "You better not, or there will be hell to pay!" Klaus warned as the room erupted into laughter. "Okay," Yandy continued, still smiling. "Your daddy-" she began but trailed off as a frown formed on her face. Klaus' smile immediately fell and I felt Adonis tense from behind me. I looked back at him, but his serious gaze stayed on Klaus. He began to pull his hands back, but Yandy gently closed hers, and shook her head sadly. "You're going to be happy" she said softly, a small smile returning. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I see you settling down somewhere with a lot of snow in your future. No retiring to a warm island" she said, her teasing tone back. "Oh for goddess sakes!" Klaus whined, causing the rest of us to laugh, clearing the sudden tension in the room. Yandy slowly opened her eyes and gave Klaus hands a soft squeeze. Understanding flashed in her eyes and Klaus shyly returned the gesture. "Kitty next!" Klaus volunteered. "I don't think I should" Kitty said unsure of herself, letting out a small hiccup. "Nonsense, come on, come on." Klaus said waving her over. Kitty reluctantly sat next to Yandy and placed her hands on Yandy's palms. "Your parents were powerful, well respected, and kind" Yandy began. "Your .. sister was a fox" she said shimmying, causing the group to laugh. "She wanted to do right by you, she loved you" Yandy continued softly. Sadness flooded Kitty's eyes as she stared at Yandy. "I see a crow. A special crow" Yandy said, her nose wrinkling slightly. "Oh goddess, Mortimer" Klaus said rolling his eyes. "Mortimer?" Adam and I asked the same time. Adonis chuckled as Klaus explained, "Kitty's house has like a huge freaking birdcage around it. And Mortimer is like a junkyard dog. He has the most goddess awful screech he does whenever someone gets too close. He's the worse!" We laughed as a blush crept across Kitty's face. Yandy sat silently smiling at whatever she was seeing until she gasped and a angry frown flashed across her face. Kitty jumped and snatched her hands from Yandy's, who in turn, snapped opened her eyes and glared at Kitty briefly. "Be careful" Yandy warned, as the air fell silent and thick with awkwardness. "See, that's the thing about readings, they show the good, bad, and ugly I'm afraid" Yandy said laughing awkwardly. "Adonis next!" Klaus demanded, unaffected by the tension. "No" He and Yandy said at the same time. I couldn't pay attention to the argument playing out between Klaus and Yandy because I was too focused on Kitty. She silently moved back to her spot next to Terrance. Her hands were shaking as she picked up her cup and drank from it. There's something off about her. As I studied their interaction, the sound of my name brought me back to Yandy and Klaus. "Evie darlin, I know you're beginning to feel it" Yandy said, as if she was repeating herself. "I'm sorry, feeling what exactly?" I asked confused. "A mans touch, it burns." she stated simply, and looks of confusion filled the room. "Um, sort of? Wait, what?" I said confused and laughter filled the room again. "Okay, y'all are hopeless." Yandy giggled. "Evie, is special. That's another story for another day. But her spirit has already started to stake its claim on King Alpha. Another mans touch, will soon feel like it's burning you, the closer you two get. As a reader, my hands are my livelihood, and I'd like to keep my sensation of touch." Yandy laughed. Adonis looked overly excited at this new found information and all I could do was roll my eyes. "Aht, aht. Don't be too happy your majesty, the same goes for you. Soon, another's woman's touch will burn, so behave." Yandy warned playfully. "Also, something about Evie's spirit screams stay away from Adonis, and I'd rather not piss it off. Y'all will feel it soon enough, I can see it, and it's not nice" Yandy said half joking. I was confused by what she meant, but didn't have a chance to ask because Klaus immediately interrupted. "Boo! So Evie's next." Klaus said, not bothering to hide his disappointment. Adonis "It's not nice." Yandy said laughing weakly. I didn't believe in this fortune teller mess, until she mentioned our father. The look on Klaus' face was gut wrenching as it drained of color, I could feel Evie wanting to know, but now wasn't the time. And I'm not sure if I ever want her to know how heartless I can be. Honestly I was glad when Yandy refused to read my palms. Truth is, I could feel the spirit Yandy was talking about. It was like Evie, but not really. Something about her felt different, like she had another person living in her body, the storm. Whenever she battled with it, it's like a dark cloud loomed over her and she faded away. The lights were on, but no one would be home. I began to feel her feelings, which were always extreme, good and bad. "Boo!" Klaus said, obviously upset. "Evie's next" "No" Yandy said again, except this time she was accompanied by Evie. Before Klaus could interject, a quiet argument began to escalate between Kitty and Terrance. "Once you pour my drink, you WILL be joining me in my room." Terrance threatened quietly, He grabbed Kitty's wrist and she gasped, dropping the cup. Everyone's attention snapped to them and Terrance gave a nonchalant shrug. "Someone's hit the sauce a little too hard. Don't worry she'll clean her mess and I'll make sure she makes it to her room to sleep it off." Terrance said calmly. Evie He grabbed Kitty's arm and roughly pushed her towards the paper towels. Klaus' nose scrunched up and I felt Adonis tense behind me. Yandy then got up and grabbed some hand towels. "I'll help you dear," She said patting Kitty's shaking hand. "No you won't" Terrance said forcefully, causing Yandy and Kitty to jump. "Terrance" Adonis warned. "Kitty is a big girl, she can clean her mess." He said glaring at Adonis. What a tosser. Like the weak man he is, he takes enjoyment from bullying women. And now he has the gall to challenge an lycan king in his own home. He must want a death wish. "Enough" Adonis said, slamming his hands on the island. An assortment of gasps and startled jumps drew me from my thoughts. I realized Terrance now had Kitty's wrist in his hand as he dragged her to the broken glass. He immediately let her go, but his eyes had a hint of defiance in them, and his aura was devious. Everything about him rubbed me the wrong way, and I could feel the storm in my head starting to take over. My vision got slightly darker and I could feel myself slipping away. Adonis I could feel Evie beside me, sitting silently, the storm beginning to brew. Her brows were furrowed in anger, but she sat quietly, her eyes never leaving Terrance. He let Kitty go, but he stared at me for a second before adverting his gaze. Yeah motherfucker, I'll rip you to shreds. "I didn't know your pack was filled with babysitters. In our pack, one has to clean the mess they made, not depend on others to do it for them." Terrance said, looking straight at Klaus. A growl erupted from my chest before I could stop it and fear clouded Klaus' eyes as he looked at me. I could feel everyone's fear, but worse, I could feel Klaus guilt. "Clean this up, I'll be in the room" Terrance ordered to Kitty. Kitty crouched down and started to clean the mess. I wanted to jump over the counter and tear him a new one, but before I could, I felt a shift in the air. Suddenly everything felt dangerous and the room felt darker. "You f*****g clean it" Evie seethed. Everyone's attention snapped to her, and she was standing, her nails digging into the marble of the island. One of her eyes were a deep violet and the other was a light lavender. "What?" Terrance asked laughing. "I said you f*****g clean it. Or would you like me to rub your nose in it and clean it with your face? Either way, you're f*****g cleaning it." Evie said without missing a beat. I stared at her for a second. She was here, but she wasn't. Something was different. Wrong. Usually I can feel her warmth, and innocence. Now all I felt was anger and hatred. She still sounded like herself, but her british accent wasn't as strong and her voice had a lower, more dangerous tone to it. All eyes were on Evie, but it was Yandy's that was staring at me with a I told you so expression. Terrance looked at me in disbelief and out of nowhere a fork flew threw the air and stuck to a cabinet right next to Terrance's ear. Adam shrieked and Klaus jumped up, clutching his shirt. "The next one will be right between your eyes" Evie warned, looking bored with Terrance's defiance. Her eyes bore holes into him, almost wishing he would object. With a huff, he crouched down next to Kitty and began to clean the mess. "Witch, move" Evie commanded and Kitty stood straight up, trembling in fear. Something was off, but damn my traitorous body for being incredibly turned on by Evie's sudden change in demeanor and acts of violence. I mindlinked to Klaus, to get everyone to their rooms and I ushered Evie to ours. At first she jumped at my touch as I gently took her hand in mine, and put my other on the small of her back. But then she let me lead her to our room. She stopped at the cabinet as Terrance stood up, as if to challenge her. A low growl tumbled in my chest, but she reassuringly patted my hand. She stopped and stood in front of him, unflinching. She grabbed the fork and yanked it out of the cabinet, testing the prongs with her fingers. "Big man, small d**k. You enjoy the misery you inflict on others yeah? Well sweet pea, so do I" she seethed. A smile stretched across her face as she continued. "When you die, it'll be by my hand" Then Terrance suddenly yelled in pain as she threw the fork down, and into his foot. "Oh goddess" Klaus gasped shakily. Everyone stood frozen in the kitchen as I led her upstairs. The closer we got to the room, the Evie I knew and loved began to emerge. The storm slowly faded, and when I closed the door and looked into her eyes, they were the green and hazel that I always drowned in. The look of sadness and remorse was written all over her face as she stood at the door unmoving. Evie Adonis slowly led me up the stairs, his hand never leaving the small of my back. I felt warm and safe. But I also felt like a loose cannon. I just impaled a mans foot with a fork. I knew I was doing it, and oh how I wanted to do it, but I also couldn't stop myself. It was as if I was on autopilot, like when I'm hunting. The feeling of having no control was scary, and the pain that I caused twisted my heart with guilt. Being a martyr, I've relied on that trait, but now that I want to live a normal life, realization hit me like a ton of bricks. What if I snapped and hurt Yandy or Klaus? Or even Adonis? The selfish part of me wants to stay and live the rest of my life with Adonis, but the part of me that still has common sense sees that it's just impossible. I have to tell him, in the morning we have to go our separate ways. Or I should just sneak out and disappear while he's asleep. I hate not saying goodbye but it's what's best for everyone. They can't be put in danger because of me and what I am. He'll hate me for a little while, but he'll move on. It's so much better for everyone if I leave. Adonis wiped a tear I didn't realize was falling with his thumb. "Hey, what's wrong love?" He asked gently, cradling my face in his palms. Warmth flooded my body and it only made the guilt at the bottom of my heart worse. I shook my head and pulled away from him. I began to go over what I was going to say but when I opened my mouth, my words got jumbled. I shook my head again, wiping away my tears. Adonis looked at me, patiently waiting for me to get myself together. I took a deep breath and exhaled. Okay, here it goes. "Adonis" I began as he took my hands in his, his beautiful grey eyes engulfing me in comfort. I took another deep breath as I decided to rip the bandaid off and tell him what I was dreading to. My words tumbled out of my mouth before I could stop myself. "I'm a martyr" Oh s**t.
