Evie

We were dropped off at the front of an exclusive club called Coqui. We could hear a mix of reggaeton and dance music spilling into the street. Yandy and Klaus immediately started dancing as we all made our way to the special VIP lounge.

"Shots, shots, shots!" Adam and Yandy cheered.

"What are you drinking Luna?" Kitty asked over my shoulder.

I couldn't help but jump in surprise. f**k, she's always so quiet and meek, I forgot she was here.

"Bloody hell, you almost gave me a heart attack Kitty!" I said laughing. "Just a water, please"

She smiled sweetly then looked at Adonis, who was standing close by me, with his hand on the small on my back. "The usual Alpha?" she asked, adverting her gaze.

He simply nodded as they made their way downstairs to the bar.

"Don't drink much?" He stated more than asked.

"Not really." I shrugged, taking a seat on the plush couch.

We were above everyone and I could see everyone on the dance floor drinking and having a good time. I smiled and started swaying to the beat. I could feel Adonis' eyes boring a hole into me.

"You know they say pictures last longer." I said, not taking my eyes off of the scene below us.

That earned a chuckle from the man of steel himself and a small smile stretched across my lips. I looked over to him and boy was that a mistake. Once again, I was trapped in a staring contest with those hypnotic grey eyes. His hands slowly rubbed up my thigh, sending tingles straight to my lady bits. I looked over to Adonis with uncertainty, but that vanished once I saw he was already staring at me with love in his eyes. Or lust, it's hard to differentiate sometimes. He took his glass and shrugged, holding it closer to mine. Once we all clinked them together, we downed them. The liquid was cold, but burned my throat.

"Holy moly" I choked out, taking a gulp of water.

Everyone laughed, but an unfamiliar laugh from the entrance of the VIP room caught my attention. My eyes darted to the mysterious man who's sudden stare made me slightly uncomfortable. He was tall - maybe 6 foot and built, but nothing compared to Adonis. His curly hair was chocolate brown, faded on the sides, but longer at top. His deep caramel skin and only accentuated the memorizing color of his eyes. They were round and golden, like two deep pools of pure honey. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, but not in a good way. He smirked at me, no doubt thinking that I was gawking at him. I cringed internally, his aura screamed deceit and maliciousness. A wave of anger accompanied by a low growl coming from Adonis made me tear my eyes away from the mysterious stranger. I looked over to him, suddenly needing to step out and get some fresh air. I just hoped he picked up on my uncomfortableness.

Evie scrambled off of my lap and almost landed on the floor. I caught her by her arms and gently planted her on her feet. The shade of red that her face turned was so adorable as she sat on the opposite end of the couch. Everyone laughed but it was Terrance's laughter that suddenly caught her attention. Terrance was the Beta of a neighboring pack. The alpha Miguel, Terrance, Eli and I spent a decent amount of time together. Training and conducting business, our packs have a peace treaty that has lasted over hundreds of years. Growing up, I could see Miguel as the alpha of his pack, always fair and kind but stern when he needed to be. Terrance on the other hand has always rubbed me the wrong way. Something about him screamed at me to keep him at arms length.

If I didn't care for him before, I definitely didn't like him now. Evie seemed to be enamored with him, her eyes were glued to his. And the asshole was staring right back at her. He even had the nerve to give her a cocky smile. My anger began to bubble over and I couldn't stop the growl that emitted from my chest. Evie seemed to snap out of whatever trance she was in and she looked over to me. When I returned her gaze, I was met with something unexpected. Uncertainty and a hint of fear swirled in her eyes, something made her uncomfortable and I needed to find out what it was.

"So anyways, look what the cat dragged in" Klaus said rolling his eyes.

"Klaus, you've always had a way with words" Terrance responded with a smile. "King Adonis, so good to see you again" he said with a slight bow.

I nodded my head and pulled Evie closer to me, and he raised a brow.

"Seems like love is in the air. I've heard the prince found his mate, and from the looks of it, you have too. Congratulations" Terrance said reaching his hand out.

Evie eyed his hand and took a step back, her eyes quickly darting to mine.

"Beta Terrance" she said bowing her head.

I gave her a confused look, but didn't question her as she scooted closer to me. Terrance smiled and dropped his hand to his side. His eyes immediately traveled to Kitty and Yandy who scooted pass him, and made their way to Evie. Yandy and Terrance locked eyes, and she extended her hand to him with a smile.

"Llandela Souvignon, pleased to meet you" she said politely.

I noticed the tattoo of a brown eye on her left palm as Terrance took it. She smiled for a second before it quickly turned to a frown. He kissed the back of her hand and her frown deepened before she plastered on a fake smile.

"Terrance Day. Aren't you a southern peach" he said with a wink.

"The sweetest" she said winking back.

Her eyes immediately traveled to Adam who was locking lips with Klaus in the corner. I shuddered and she looked to me with amusement.

"Kitty, it's so good to see you again" Terrance said as Kitty swirled her drink.

"Wish I could say the same." she said avoiding eye contact. "Yandy dance with me" she said practically jumping from her seat.

"Yes! Let's!" Klaus said dragging Adam down the stairs with him.

"Care to join us?" Yandy asked as she walked past Terrance.

"I thought you'd never ask" he said shamelessly eyeing her up and down.

Evie mouthed a silent thank you to Yandy who responded with a wink as the group descended the stairs. Once everyone was gone, I turned to Evie, who was still looking towards the stairs with her brows furrowed.

"Care to tell me what's going on in that pretty mind of yours?" I asked, rubbing her arm.

She let out a breath of contentment before looking up at me. Her beautiful eyes always put me in a trance. It always feels like it's only the two of us in the world, and love fills every cell of my body. She shook her head and smiled, and her eyes traveled down to her lap. I pulled her chin up, so I could get another look at her beautiful orbs before leaning over and placing my lips on hers. I stopped as we passed Kitty and quickly let her know that one of the guards would be taking them home because we were leaving. She looked over to Evie with a knowing smile that only widened as Evie's face turned beet red. I sped to the villa and almost tore her clothes off before we could fully enter the door.

As Adonis pushed the door open, he immediately picked me up and my legs wrapped around his waist. His lips crashed onto mine and he plunged his tongue in my mouth, dominating it. I rolled my eyes as I slowly walked around the island and stood in between his legs. He pulled me close, resting his head in the crook of my neck and his arms wrapped around my waist.
