Chapter two : Red Moon pack gala

"Baby do you have to go?" Caroline asked in a sad tone sitting up on the king sized bed, holding to duvet above her chest "hmmm" Raphael hummed while putting on his trousers " can't you stay for a bit?"Caroline asked in a hoarse voice "you have a photoshoot in 2 hours and I have a pack meeting in hour. I can't stay even if I want to"Raphael said adjusting his belt and Caroline nodded sadly.

Just then she tried to stand up but fell back on the bed, she quickly covered her body glaring at Raphael "damned wolf stamina" She cursed but Raphael smirked and walked to her , their face were only an inch apart.

"it's Lycan stamina"he correctly and gave her a brief kiss and left the room.

Annika's POV

The morning was chilly and my worn out hoodie was doing nothing to shield me from the morning chill.

As I made my way to the Kitchen to clean last night dishes I bumped into Binta, Weird! I mean that hall only leads to Jacob's room, so Binta and Jacob are.........

She brushed passed me and I pretended as if I did not see the bra she was holding..... like if you are going to have an affair do it properly.

Speaking of affairs I don't think I can accept it if my mate were to have a mistress ...... I mean you have a mate what do you need another woman for? Honestly men are difficult to understand yet they blame women for being difficult.

And just like that I finished my morning chores while preoccuping my self with things that were not my business.

I sat near the lake, admiring the beauty of the greens and the lake also knowing this was the only place I can be myself without living in fear for someone might beat me up. So much for being an hybrid I'm sure an average human is stronger than I am, I heard rattling of the bushes and I glance there but a small squirrel ran out and I breathed a sigh of relief.

What was I thinking? No one in the pack will risk their life coming here to get me , To all lycans and wolves this Forest was a no-go zone and Red Moon pack is the closest to it .

I've heard from pack members that this place is a hunting ground for dark and dirty creatures like Demons,witches, vampires.........

Maybe because I'm an hybrid they see me as their own......who I'm I kidding? they'll probably see me as a bait ..... I better get back to the pack before anyone notice my absence.

Damn! where is my bracelet? That bracelet was the only valuable thing that I have and it was given to me by an old lady that I helped cross the road I looked around but I didn't see it, just as I was contemplating whether to go back and search for it Binta emerged from the pack house "Bastard where have you been?"she asked angrily honestly I've been called names so much I might forget my real name haha "sl*t quit smiling and go assist the other maids in cleaning the pack event hall"she yelled and I ran into the pack house some passing pack members laughing .

I cleaned the tables with a rag and a bucket of water, I wiped the sweat off my forehead and I hadn't taken a step when someone bumped into me .

OH MY....Slap! Slap! Slap! Of all people why did it have to be Luna Claire the woman was more fearful than Lilith and now my ears are ringing.

"Get me a whip" She commanded Holy hell! I knew she was not done but I did not expect a whip .

Soon maid ran in with a whip"I know that you poured that dirty water on me to get revenge after amber hit you"she said and tighten her grip on the whip.

"Luna .....no-no ...... it's not as you think I......."I shut up at the feeling of my skin tearing and the painful sensation that followed.

Claire was without mercy hitting me like a ragged cloth. One....

Yes thirty whips all over my body, she threw the now bloody whip away the other maids stood in terror as she used her wolf strength to throw me across the room and darkness welcomed me

A stretched black limosine stopped in front of Red moon pack's house and Raphael came out of the car in a black tailored suit, he looked flawless as he marched into the pack house with two bodyguards excorting him.

"Ah Alpha Raphael it is an honour to see you "Alpha Ronald said with joy evident in his voice "hmmm, so...... Where is the Jacob?" Raphael asked "I'm here alpha Raphael"Jacob said in a loud voice holding a blonde with him ,"alpha Raphael meet Ariana my mate, Ariana meet alpha Raphael the alpha of the Crest moon pack"Jacob explained "it is a pleasure meeting you Alpha"Aria said bowing her head a bit "alright enough of the pleasantries, let us proceed to the hall"Alpha Ronald said and Raphael nodded "I heard your beta is ill so who did you live the pack to?" Alpha Ronald asked in a voice full of curiosity "I left it for a friend of mine"Rapheal replied in an indifferent voice "a friend? Is he reliable?"Jacob asked out of curiosity "I don't think that should be any of your business"Raphael replied and Jacob swallowed his words avoiding his father's glare.

Men and women were mingling , some finding their mates, some already found and some just came.

Annika looked around everywhere was white but peaceful then she saw an old lady , the old lady that have her the bracelet that she lost and this made her dad"Don't be sad my child everything happens for a reason "the old lady said with a kind smile"how?"Annika asked "you see life is bumpy the universe on the other had is straight forward "the old lady said looking ahead "I don't understand "Annika said "I'm sorry my child I can't explain it to you but remember that only ur mate will return that bracelet to you now go back to your realm else you'll be stuck her for infinity" "ah!"Annika jolt awake then whined in pain her body felt like it was on fire and her clothes barely hid anything just then Binta came in "the alpha ordered that I join today's maid in serving the guests "Binta said and left the room.

Annika's POV

I struggled to stand up using the walls as my support as I made my way to the shared bathroom, the walls of the bathroom were already green with age you can imagine how it looks like.

I took off the last clothes covering my nakedness and poured the ice cold water on my body I bit my lips to stop my self from crying it stings, I stared at the blood red water on the ground and left.

I wore a black top and black skirt this were the ones I found in Amber dumpster and since it was okay I took it and I'm glad she never questioned me about it .

I walked to the kitchen and took the Trey of drinks and left for the hall, come to think of it was that .... you know .... conversation with the old lady a dream or reality.

I knew they were more to it but i just can't prove it.
