Roshana’s P.O.V

When I entered Edward’s house, I felt so terrified to see everyone’s face. Edward’s secretary Mark was holding Adrian who was still crying. I took Adrian from Mark, lifted him on my arms, and slowly he stopped crying. I was standing in the middle of the living room. All security guards were standing around me as I did some crime. The men’s evil stare made me feel uncomfortable and I was trembling. when I heard a hoarse voice. “Everybody, out” from one corner of the room, as soon as I looked sharply, I saw Edward who was leisurely sitting on a couch with a glass of wine. I could not see his face since the room was dark.

Mark approached me and took Adrian, “Adrian, let’s go buy some chocolates. Mom and dad need to speak”, Adrian politely went with Mark and all other guards and maid left the house as soon as they heard Edward. The whole house was abnormally dark and quiet.

I was more nervous to stand alone in the middle of the living room. Since it was dark, I couldn’t see what Edward was doing or holding in his hands. Besides me, I saw a shadow of a GUN. Oh my god, Edward was holding a gun pointing on the ground. On the other hand, he was holding a glass of wine. He took a sip and stared at the glass.

I was terrified and my whole body was shivering out of fear in front of him like a sheep in front of a wolf. No wonder even if he killed me because I took Adrian with me and tried to flee. Moreover, I broke the most important condition.

He placed the gun on the table, took another sip of the wine, and threw down the glass hardly and the pieces of the glass scattered the whole room.  I was startled. I was afraid of his sudden action and gulped. My forehead was fully sweating and my whole body was shaking out of fear.

He approached me, and I started to flinch slowly, as soon as he came near to me, I could see his face which was so lonely and sad. He hugged me softly and held my waist in his hands.

I didn’t expect that he would hug me. What? Is this really Edward? I knew he could feel my whole body shivering. He hugged me tightly which makes me more tremble. I could feel his hot body and could smell the wine and his scent at the same time. He buried his face on my neck, he started kissing my collarbone. I shrunk my neck out of shyness. He stopped, looked at my face, touched my lips with his thumb “I am not going to hurt you. Don’t be scared”.

He told this in a gentle voice. I was surprised by his action. A few minutes back I saw a gun in his hands and thought I would be dead today, but now he hugged me and told me that he was not going to hurt me. I did not know whether I should be happy or sad. I was still in confusion and scared of him.

He slammed his lips on mine and we both started kissing. I could feel his teeth and tongue. He was holding my face with one of his hands. As we were kissing I took a step back unconsciously and stepped on a glass piece.

“Aah,” I groaned. That glass piece had cut through my feet and started bleeding.

He saw my blood, took a deep sigh, lifted me in both hands, and started walking upstairs towards my room. I could not understand his face reaction, it was emotionless, I could not say whether he was angry, sad, or annoyed.

“It’s okay I can walk”, I said in a low voice.

He heard what I said, peered my face, and didn’t care my words but kept walking.

“It’s my mistake. I am the one who had been so rude to you the other night. I should have apologized to you. I am sorry about that night. I promise I will never hurt you again” He told in a gentle voice as he was looking away and walking.

“Are you not mad at me?” I asked.

He gave a meaningful look and a smile, “No,”. He looked so handsome when he smiles. I stared at him in a gaze until he reached my room.

“What are you looking at?”

I suddenly came to consciousness and rolled my eyes away. I felt so warm that time, being in his hands, his apology words, I really felt protective. He put me on the bed gently, he brought the first aid box and started cleaning and cover my wounds. He even helped me to walk to the washroom. “Take rest and sleep well”.

He was about to leave, and I asked, “uh, Adrian?”

“I will take care. He is with Mark. Don’t worry. Sleep tight.” He said and left.

He was gentle that day and even apologized. As Eric said, Edward might like me. I felt it that day because he was gentle to me and he cared for me.

I did not sleep well that night, I was thinking about Edward the whole night. The other night, he was like a hungry wolf, even tried to strangle me and now, he was like a gentleman. I did not know whether to trust him or not, but I had decided to stay in Edward’s home for now and give him one more chance. “In future, if he ever behaves rudely to me again, I will run far away from him and will never forgive him”.

Eric’s P.O.V

After three hours, Hannah came into the room. I woke up as soon as she entered.

“Are you hungry? I will cook something for you” She asked.

She acted so casually which makes me even angrier at her, “Hannah stop acting normal please.”

Her face became unhappy and the environment was so quiet. I stared at her, “Hannah I am tired of this. Tired of chasing you. Please tell me what’s wrong. Tell me the reason why are you hiding here” I cried.

She lowered her eyelids and didn’t answer my questions, she stood still.

“Are you hiding from me? If you had said you don’t love me, I would let you go. From whom are you hiding? From me? Uh?” I shook her shoulders holding tightly.

She started shedding tears. I realized my words hurt her. I hugged her, “Oh Hannah, I am so sorry”. I didn’t get what she was going through. I love her, and I need her all my life but now she had run away because she was afraid of something and I had no idea what it was.

The love of my life was into some big trouble and I didn’t even know what it was. Hilarious! I could not see her crying. If she had not run, then she would be my wife by that time and we must have a child by now. I felt guilty.

“Did I do something wrong?” I lift her chin and asked in a gentle voice.

“No, you are the one who never hurt me” She gave a meaningful look and hugged me.

“What happened to our child? Why did you abort the baby?”

“Years back, when I carried your child, your mother came to my apartment and threatened me to leave you” she paused and hesitated to say more.

My mother was a rich pride woman. Of course, she will never accept Hannah who was from a middle-class family. But I would never abandon Hannah because I love her.

“So, you left me because my mother threatened you? How silly?”

I replied in a hoarse voice because I wanted to know what the reason for her lament, which provoked her. She bit her lips as if she was stopping herself from saying something. “It’s okay Hannah tell me. I need to know”, I held her face and said this.

She started sniveling, “When you left the town for work, one night 3 of your mother’s men came into my apartment. They hit me, undress me, r***d me, and took photos of my naked body, and threatened me not to see and talk to you again. They also said that if I try to contact you, they would post these pictures to the internet and made you believe that I am a slut. I didn’t have a choice.”, she hugged me and cried after saying this.

I was devasted after hearing this. I never thought my mother had arranged men to r**e my girl. How could my mother do such a thing? Moreover, she was a woman too. I got angry with myself for letting Hannah suffer because of me. I felt dizzy and sat on the ground.

“I am sorry Hannah”. I held her hands and said this. I could not control myself from crying.

“Because of the violent behavior of the men that day, I lost my child and admitted to hospital.

The next day your mother came to the hospital and handed over the passport, visa with a different identity, and a ticket to London and threatened me to leave the country. I had no choice, I left.”

As I sniffled, she hugged me and swiped my tears. Of course, I cannot compromise her with any of my words. I felt so embarrassed for being a son to such a horrible mother. I felt guilty for Hannah. She had suffered a lot because of me and I would never allow anyone to hurt her.

“I promise you, I will never allow anyone to hurt you”, I kissed her forehead and we both laid on the floor. She was lying on my arms.

I have decided I should never let her go. I had many girlfriends before I met Hannah, but no one ever made me feel the way she made. “I cannot lose her again. No matter what I should be with her. She deserves a good life and a happy family, which I will give”.

After a long time of silence, “I am hungry. Let’s eat something. I will cook” she told in a mild brisk tone. We both sat on the floor. I lift her and make her sit on my lap. I lowered my eyelids, smiled bitterly, and said,” Hannah. I know this is not the right time to ask. But.”

“But what?” she narrowed her eyes and asked.

“Will you marry me?”

She was surprised and exhaled strongly, “I don’t think I can marry anyone.”

“Anyone? why?” I snapped

She just exhaled and didn’t say a word for a minute, “Eric you are a good person. Marry someone and,” before she even finished I kissed her, and I held her face with both hands and kissed her for a long time. We made love after that.

“you are mine, Hannah. I will not allow you to suffer alone”. After hearing my words, she smiled bitterly but she was still shedding tears.

“Pack everything and come with me,” I added.

She shook her head. But I packed all her important stuff and convinced her to go to the town with me.

“What about those photos and videos,” she asked in an unhappy face and eyes full of tears.

“Leave it to me. I will take care. don’t worry about that. Just Forget all as if nothing happened”, I said in a concerned voice. she rubbed her head in confusion. I knew she was still afraid of that. I hugged her, “I am here. Don’t worry. I will not let something bad happen to you”.

She agreed to go with me. I had a small villa in the town and I made her stay over there until I find the videos, photos and destroy it. She can be safe there because no one was allowed to come. So, nobody can find that she was there.

My mom speaks about my engagement with a big business man’s daughter in recent days. I agreed to that engagement because I wanted my mother to be humiliated.
