Roshana’s P.O.V

That night I did not sleep at all. What is wrong with Edward? Why he behaved so? He claimed Adrian, I accepted but now he was claiming me as his. What was he thinking? I have the right to go out and hang with anyone? Why does he care? I never can be his wife or a person he loves. We were just in a contract marriage for Adrian.

I had decided to break the contract marriage. Adrian should not grow in such an environment. Since Edward was rich, I thought Adrian would get a good education. Adrian might learn his arrogance and may become like Edward in the future. I have decided to leave the town with Adrian. Of course, I cannot face Edward legally because I knew for sure that he would win. I thought I could run somewhere far or to a different country where Edward cannot find me. I also wanted to start a new life where Edward cannot find me and Adrian.

I need someone's help to arrange me with tickets, visas, and some money. Hannah was not there to help me out. I knew Richard and Eric. I can get help from Richard, but I didn’t want to trouble him. Richard should not get into any problem because of me. I thought I would take help from Eric. I have decided to speak to Eric and ask for help.

Although I was upset about Edward’s behavior that night, I tried to behave casually as if nothing had happened and started going to school. I started avoiding Richard because of Edward’s menace. Richard should not get into any trouble.

But Richard misunderstood that I was avoiding him because of the kiss on the date night and he even apologized to me twice. I really cannot explain to him what I had gone through. Moreover, I will leave the town soon, so I ignored Richard's feeling over me. I knew I was selfish, but I had no choice. I cannot stay in that house anymore or in the town. Somehow, I managed to get Eric's phone number.

I texted to Eric, “I need to talk to you, this is Roshana”

“Okay. Meet me at Nelson's café at 3 pm”, he replied.

At the Café.

Eric came late and apologized, “Sorry, I was caught up in some work,” he said after exhaling heavily.

“No, I am sorry I should have not disturbed at your working hours”

“No, that’s okay. It is some client stuff. Did you order something?” He rolled his eyes.

“No, still didn’t"

"Okay, let us order some food. I still didn’t have my lunch”

He ordered something, and I ordered some coffee. I was a little nervous to start the conversation. It was about Edward and I knew very well Eric and Edward were good friends more than cousins. He noticed my nervousness and asked, "Are you okay?" in a deeply concerned voice.

“yeah, I am fine”

He started eating and did not even look at me. I too did not speak to him because I became more tensed at that time.

He suddenly asked doubtfully, “Is it about Hannah?”

“No, it is about Edward”, I said in a low voice.

“What about him? Did he do something?”, he narrowed his eyes and asked me in a serious tone.

I didn’t know what to reply to his questions, I hesitated for a moment and looked around. He held my hand, “It’s okay tell me”. He seemed so concerned and I hoped he would help me.

“I have decided to leave Edward”

“What? why?” he wide opened his eyes.

“I cannot tell. He sometimes behaves rudely than I thought”. I sighed with an unhappy face.

“Listen. Edward had never been with any woman before. So, he may not know how to behave or something. You should be feeling lucky to have him because you are his first, first lady in his life” He shook his head and gave me a meaningful look.

“We are just in a contract marriage. I have nothing to do with Edward”, I snapped.

He smiled and said, “F*ck this contract stuff. HE LOVES YOU”. He said this as he held my hand. I looked back at him with a flustering and sad face.

“uh? Love. 2 days back he almost strangled me”, I said sarcastically.

He could see that I was not convincible. He took a deep sigh and said, “What do you want me to do?”

“I need a small favor from you. I want your help to move to another country. I need a new passport with new identities for me and Adrian, visa, tickets, and a 10,000 USD. I will pay this money back once I reach there and got a new job"

He did not even think, he just refused, “No, I cannot do this to Edward” he shook his head.

“Please, Eric! I cannot help myself. Edward would come to know one or the other way. His people often follow me”.

“I am sorry! Roshana, I cannot do this. You and Adrian are the only family he has got. I cannot ruin that”.

Eric was my last hope, but he refused to help me. I was holding tears in my eyes ad he even noticed it but ignored it.

“If this is what you want to talk about. I think our conversation is over. Let’s leave”. Eric said this and left the café.

 Even after Eric left, I was still sitting in the same seat with a gloomy face. I really didn't know what to do. I was so helpless. One thing I was so sure about was I cannot live with Edward. It doesn't matter how pity his childhood was or how much he loves Adrian, I need to leave Edward.

After 2 days, I got a text from Eric, “Do you know where Hannah is?”

Since I was in class I didn’t reply anything. After an hour. Ping. Got one more text from Eric, “If you could tell where Hannah is. I will help you to leave this town.”

I saw his texts and lost in thoughts,” What should I do? Should I give him Hannah's address? No, I should never do that. Hannah was already in some trouble and I should make her life more mess. She told me clearly not to give the address to anyone. But This is the only way to leave Edward. I know I should not give Hannah’s address to Eric, but I have no choice “.

“Can we talk today?” I replied.

“At 3 pm”, he replied

At the café.

I reached there and saw Eric was already waiting for me. I was still in dilemma about what should I do, I did not have any idea what I would do. I really cannot give up Hannah’s promise, but I cannot live with Edward. I was in complete confusion

“Are you sure that you want to leave Edward?”. When I lost in my thoughts, Eric frowned.

“yes, I am sure”, I replied politely.

“Okay, I will arrange for passport and visa. Where do you want to go?”

“France, maybe!”

“Okay, I will arrange it. What about Hannah’s whereabouts?”

I took a deep sigh and said, “Promise me you will not hurt Hannah”.

Suddenly his face became so serious and cold, with a meaningful look, he told “I LOVE her. I would never hurt her. She is the love of my life. I don’t have any idea why she had to flee away. What she is afraid of? I am sure she loves me more than I love her. Something’s not going right in her life. She is in some trouble. She needs help. She needs MY help. I will find her, bring her back and marry her”

Eric’s answer was convincing. Hannah was not happy, and She loves Eric too but why she must run? Something was bothering Hannah and she needs help. I really hope Eric would help her from what she had been going through. So, I agreed to give the living address of Hannah.

After 2 weeks, Eric arranged all the things and pinged me, “Get ready. you are leaving the town in 2 days. Collect the documents at the cafe”.

Same day at the café.

I handed over Hannah’s address to Eric and he gave me the passport, visa documents with different identities for me and Adrian. He also gave me 25 thousand USD.

I was surprised to see huge money, “I don’t want this much money”, I sneered.

“It’s okay, take it. It may take time to get a job over there.

Edward is really a good man. You may have misunderstood him. Just think one more time. It’s not too late. you can just withdraw this plan”

He tried to convince me, but I was so determined that I will leave. He shook his head to show that I was not convincible at all and left the café.

On the day of my flight to France, I texted Edward, “I am taking Adrian to my mother’s house”

“Okay,” he replied.

Edward’s men often follow me, but they never followed me to my mother’s home. I was so depressed to see my mother’s house which was full of her memories. I had no choice rather than leaving.

I took a taxi to the Airport from my mother’s home. When I got down from the taxi, 2 cars which were driving so fast stopped beside me. I was startled for a second. 6 to 7 men who looked like security guards came out of the cars and dragged me and Adrian into the car.

“Let me go, help! Somebody help me” I shouted, but no one helped. Before even I realized what was happening, they pushed me into the car abruptly.

The driver started to drive the car and two men were holding me tightly, I could not move and another man in the front seat was holding Adrian. I was so panicked, and Adrian started crying. I did not know where these people are taking me.

The Car entered Edward’s home. F*ck. my whole plan was messed. I was so sure that no one followed me and how Edward come to know that I was at the airport. I became more and more nervous. I was even more scared about what Edward would do to me?

Eric’s P.O.V

I got the address from Roshana, which says Hannah was in London. “What the hell she is doing in London. She doesn’t know anyone there,” I booked the next flight to London which was in 3 days.

I was really worried about Edward. Roshana and Adrian were the only families Edward had got. I just spoiled it. The favor which I did to Roshana was bothering me a lot. I felt so guilty about that.

After 2 days, Roshana was about to get a flight in 5 hours and she must be in her mother’s home. I took my phone out of my pocket.

“Happy journey and stay safe,” I typed these texts but didn’t send to Roshana.

I hurriedly deleted those text and retyped as, “Roshana is going to the Airport,” I texted to Edward.

I didn’t know why I did that, but I felt that was the correct thing. I knew Roshana would hate me for this, but Edward should not lose his only family.

I didn’t know what happened to Roshana, Adrian, or Edward. I did not know whether Roshana had boarded the flight or Edward caught her. I was completely busy with my packing to meet Hannah. “If Hannah didn’t get back with me I will stay with her. Hannah’s parents passed away when she was young, No one is there for her except some friends. I should be taking care of her”.

Years back, when we were on the relationship, my mother didn’t like her because she was not that rich. Hannah was pregnant, and I was planning for our marriage. I tried to convince my mother, but she refused for our marriage.  In the meanwhile, Hannah ran away without a clue. I should find the reason why she had to run.

I reached London and I couldn’t wait to meet her. I didn’t book any room and even I didn’t fresh up myself. I looked like a homeless due to travel but I did not care at all. All I was thinking about was Hannah. I just rushed to the address that Roshana gave me.

When I got down from the taxi, I saw a flower shop on the corner of the street. I went to buy some flowers for Hannah. Hannah was there, she seemed to be working there, she was selling the flowers there. I stared at her for a long time, but she didn’t notice me, and I approached her.

“10 red roses, please,” I said. Abruptly she turned back and saw me. Her eyes were wide opened. She was flustered and froze. 

“How? how do you know?” She blabbered.

I just smiled and didn’t speak a word.  She got panicked and tuned her head all around as if she was seeing whether someone was watching us.

“Eric, what are you doing here? You should leave”

“Enough Hannah. We need to talk”

As I was speaking to her, she dragged my hands and pulled me into the small flower shop. “Go to my room and wait for me there. Make sure no one sees you”. She told me this in a hoarse voice and handed me the key.

“who are you even afraid of?” I asked in confusion.

“please go. Put this cap. Wait for me in my room. I will come after my shift” she told and handed me a cap.

I shrugged and was about to leave. She abruptly held my hand and hugged me in tears. “wait for me. I will come”. She was trembling. I didn’t understand her move. Why she was so panic? I just nodded and went to her room.

It was a small and clean room. I was so tired, and jetlag made me feel sleepy. I laid on her bed and slept.
