I opened my bedroom door and saw Tamara crying. “Hey what’s wrong??” I hugged her and closed the door behind her. “Did something happen with Quinn?” That was the only reason I could think of for her to be this upset.
She nodded and cried against me. “H-His p-parents are talking about arranging his marriage since he’s almost eighteen so he told them about me but they wouldn’t even consider me!” She sobbed. “I don’t know what to do…” She sniffled. “They want him to either marry a princess and rule her kingdom with him or marry a noble and become a duke in one of their provinces.” Quinn had older siblings so he wouldn’t inherit his kingdom but he was still expected to rule somewhere.
