I looked back at Marina and smiled. “What made you change your mind?” I’m glad she’s coming, Marina is a part of our little family and it wouldn’t be a reunion without her.
Marina reached us after running and slightly panted. “You’re my friends who I haven’t seen in half a year and won’t see you for another half a year. Spending your birthdays with you guys is important to me. Riley and I could go out to dinner any night.” Riley scared me because I’m not sure how good she is for Marina.
I smiled. “Good, how did Riley feel about it?”
Marina frowned “She wasn’t very happy but if what is important to us and what we want conflicts so much then maybe we should rethink being together…”
“Does this sort of thing happen often?” Violet asked as we all started walking.
