Threads of Destiny
Chapter 1: The Night
The soft hum of the sewing machine filled the small room as Tife pressed her foot gently against the pedal. The needle moved quickly, dancing across the fabric like it had a life of its own. Outside, the night was quiet, but inside her heart, there was a storm she could not explain.
She paused for a moment, lifting her head as if she had heard something. Silence. Just the ticking of the old wall clock.
"Maybe it's nothing," she whispered to herself, returning to her work.
Tife had always believed her life would follow a simple path—finish her training, grow her small fashion business, and make her mother proud. But deep down, she felt there was something more waiting for her, something bigger than the small town she had always known.
Suddenly, a loud knock came from the door.
Her heart skipped.
At this hour?
She stood up slowly, wiping her hands on her dress as she walked toward the door. Another knock followed, louder this time.
"Who is it?" she asked, her voice slightly trembling.
"Open the door," a deep voice replied.
Tife hesitated. Something didn’t feel right.
Still, curiosity pushed her forward. She unlocked the door and opened it slightly.
Standing outside was a man she had never seen before. Tall, well-dressed, and with eyes that seemed to carry secrets.
"Are you Tife?" he asked.
"Yes..." she replied cautiously.
The man looked around before speaking again.
"Your life is about to change," he said.
Tife frowned. "I don't understand."
He handed her a sealed envelope.
"You will," he said quietly.
Before she could ask another question, he turned and disappeared into the darkness.
Tife stood frozen at the doorway, the envelope trembling in her hands.
She closed the door slowly and stared at it.
What could possibly be inside?
Taking a deep breath, she opened it.
And everything changed.
