Chapter 77

Rira knew that if Aboro chose to fight it would be terrible and she did not want him to reveal his real identity just yet and so she moved closer to him, to help the situation but the two men pushed her aside and remained standing infront if Aboro, almost kissing his face. Aboro knew that their rudeness was enough to unleash his anger and his deadly side but he was no longer that person, he was no longer Aboro, Aboro who single handedly killed two lions in a day. He was no longer going to allow himself to be put in a situation whereby he is unable to restrict himself. He wanted to move again but the men kept standing on his way. One of them rudely said, "I know your kind, you come to separate fight so that people will praise you but the truth is that deep inside you there is this evil that would prefer us fighting than separated" "I do not know what you are saying but coming to separate a fight is not an evil thing and if I had not come to stand inbetween the both of you nobody was ready to do that. So I am just going to ask you to let me pass" Aboro sounded but the two fighters were not ready to allow him to pass. They stood there ground. One of them spat on the face of Aboro and he cleaned it. At that point Rira needed to intervene but it was too late, the two men has begun to beat Aboro and they were beating him mercilessly. Aboro sat on the ground and kept protecting his eyes from their assault. The two men after having beaten him the extent they wanted they left him there and the people that had gathered dispersed. Adere then sat down and spoke to Rira, "I had to do this..." "I know and I am proud of your self-control. You did well by not having the both of them killed. If they had known the person that you are they would not have laid a finger on you. I am not saying that there is anything really responsible for the way things have become but I am quite sure that it takes someone who is capable to know what they want. You have proven to me that you are not just the person that we quitely know but now a changed man, a man whose heart has been stolen by the god of peace. I am very much proud of you" Aboro stood up and said to her, "I know that you are happy with the way that I acted. I am very much impressed with the way things turned out and I am willing to do whatever it is that it takes to have many things go the way that they were supposed to go. Have me understand that there are those despite the fact that they were going to do well they miss the whole point of knowing how to go about doing anything well. I am going to look for a place for us to stay" As he said this Rira dusted his cloths and allowed him to look up. Aboro flashed her a smile and it would seem like both of them were already developing some feelings for each other. Aboro was the last person to show how he felt and Rira who already knew that Aboro was never going to show her his feelings towards her took it upon herself that she was going to do that but not yet. Aboro and Rira moved away from the square and found themselves in a space where there were men and women looking to have foreigners rent a place in their properties. Aboro said to Rira, "These people offer houses for rent. We should ask to know how much" "Even if we ask and know do we have it here with us? We do not have any money with us and you know that here is an expensive kingdom, a kingdom where the poorest can be regarded as a rich man in the land of Zinu" "Well that should be in the land of Zinu not in the land of Agori. The land where I come from I think we are not the poor" said Aboro before he smiled. Rira did not say a word. "Well" Aboro continued, "Maybe we should look for a place where we can nest for free, a place where we can work for the people there and then that is it" "No, that is not what I want" Rira said as she moved away from him. "Is this the life we now relegate ourselves to; a life whereby there is nothing else to show for ourselves except the fact that we are now going beyond what is needed. I can not be relegated or allow myself to be relegated to this level. What this means Aboro is that I know what we have decided to become and I am sure we have become that very thing; peace makers, peace seekers yet hiding here will not be enough to make the world see the version of the world that would be better" "Remember the land where we found ourselves and then know for sure that whatever it is we seek we have already found. You do not need to bother yourself about these things. I believe quite alright that it was the gods who brought us here, who made our coming here possible, it was not us and we must not take into our hands the desires that we want or exhibit anything outside the plans of the gods" "How will we know the plans of the gods if we do not act?" asked Rira. "By not acting until we hear from the gods" said Aboro. "How the will we know that we have heard from the gods?" asked Rira. "Were you not there when Aboro became a peace maker?" asked Aboro.
