Edu did not reach the land of Abah when he began to hear about the deadly event occuring there because of the presence of the ancient beast. Inside the palace and right inside the room where Adere's mother with Renu were with the motionless Mori and Adere they kept looking out of the windows to see the generals and the soldiers all marching out to meet with the ancient beast outside the gates. Adere's mother was so worried but Renu was not as she believed that there was no way the gods would allow them all to die in one day.
