Chapter Twelve I was elated with my first beach walk finding Nathan just minutes after I started. Cory was off somewhere, wildly happy to be back at the ocean, just as I was. The break was essential, just to clear my head of everything that was coming down so quickly in my relationship with Oliver. Finding Nathan—or Nathan finding me—was exactly what I needed. Sitting on one of our familiar cliff rocks looking out toward the bright horizon, the sun warming places in me that had grown cold, it hardly seemed like I’d been gone from the pristine sands and the sound of rough breakers.
