“Are you crazy? You killed him just because he told me he loved me!” Kayla was covered in blood as she stared at the man before her with terrified eyes. “Kayla,” he said softly, his hands stained red with blood, “I warned you before… if you looked at another man or even thought about one, I would kill him.” He stepped closer slowly, his dark eyes locked onto hers. “And if you ever try to run away, I’ll hunt you down even if it’s the end of the world. You belong to me. Only me.” They were inside an abandoned building. Cold wind slipped through the broken windows while the heavy smell of blood filled the air. Kayla’s body trembled. Not because she was cold. But because she was tired.
Tired of running.
Tired of being afraid.
Tired of living like a prisoner.
Roland bent down, trying to pull her into his arms, but before his hand could touch her cheek, Kayla slapped him hard. “You’re insane,” she spat, tears burning in her eyes. Her shaking hand suddenly grabbed the knife lying beside her. Roland’s expression changed instantly. “Kayla…” “And let me tell you something,” she whispered painfully, “no matter what you do… I will never love you.” His face turned pale. “Stop!” But it was too late. Kayla stabbed herself right in front of him. “No! NO!” Roland caught her before she hit the floor. His hands trembled violently as he pressed against the wound, desperately trying to stop the bleeding. Blood soaked through his fingers. For the first time, fear completely filled his eyes. “Kayla… stay with me… please…” Kayla let out a weak laugh, tears sliding down the sides of her face. “No one… will ever love you…” Her breathing became slower and slower. “Let’s never meet… in our next life…” Before she could finish speaking, her body went limp in his arms. She was dead
Meanwhile,
Roland sat there silently, holding Kayla’s lifeless body against his chest. His mind went blank. He didn’t know how much time had passed before he finally stood up and walked out of the abandoned building with her still in his arms. The moon shone brightly over the dark city streets as a cold wind brushed past him. His thoughts twisted endlessly inside his head. Why was loving her never enough? Without realizing it, Roland stopped in the middle of a bridge. Police cars surrounded the area, their flashing lights reflecting against the water below. “Sir! Put the body down and surrender immediately!” “Do not make any sudden moves!” Roland ignored them all. Instead, he looked down at Kayla’s pale face. “If I had done things differently… would you have loved me?” His voice cracked softly. “What was I supposed to do to keep you beside me?” He slowly climbed onto the edge of the bridge while holding her body tightly. A small, broken smile appeared on his lips as he looked up at the night sky. “If there’s another life… I’ll make you fall in love with me the right way.” Then he leaned backward. “ROLAND, NO!” A young woman suddenly screamed from behind the police line. As Roland fell, he saw tears streaming down her face while officers held her back from running toward him. He stared at her in confusion as darkness swallowed him whole.

“Kayla! Kayla!” A voice called her name repeatedly. Kayla suddenly opened her eyes. She was standing inside her office, holding a cup of coffee. Her coworker looked at her impatiently. “Aren’t you bringing the coffee to the CEO? Or do you want me to do it instead?” Kayla looked around in confusion. The office. The workers. The familiar surroundings. Her breathing became uneven as she quickly grabbed her phone and checked the date.
2025
Her eyes widened in shock. She had gone back three years. Back to the beginning of everything. Back to the day, she first brought coffee to Mr. Qin.
Roland Qin.
The man whose obsession destroyed her life. Before Kayla could answer, another woman suddenly walked over with a gentle smile. “I’ll bring the coffee to Mr. Qin instead,” the beautiful young woman said softly. “Is it still warm?” Kayla froze. For some reason… the woman’s voice sounded strangely familiar. Slowly, Kayla lifted her head and stared at her. Who is she?
