I watched with remorse as she rolled down the stairs, leaving a trail of blood behind until she hit the foot of the stairs.
"What have you done?!" My mother cried. "You have killed her!"
She made to run down the stairs but I caught her arm.
"I still need an answer to my question, Mother," I reminded. She tried to yank her hand from me.
"Have you lost your mind? Let go of me this instant!" She ordered.
