The sound of her heels echoed as she stopped in front of me.
"You have always been such a pest," she hissed, grabbing a fistful of my hair. "I gave you the option to run away and leave my son but you wouldn't listen."
I looked at her with annoyance.
"I was doing just that before your men attacked me. You can have your son all to yourself!" I spat.
She was startled by my words. I guess she never imagined me leaving Bennett.
"Well you didn't leave at the time I asked you to," she huffed. "And I couldn't possibly let you go now. You have already caused a rift between my son and me. Because of you, I can't even go home," she spat.
