{Draco}
"Hey Granger?" I groaned.
Granger shifted in her seat and sighed, "Hmmm?"
I sat up, shoving the pile of textbooks onto the floor, "Want to do something fun?"
Granger rolled her eyes, "We're studying for a test."
I nodded, "Right. That's why I asked if you wanted to do something fun."
She sighed, "What Malfoy?"
I smirked, "Not telling. You'll just have to trust me."
She scoffed, "And why in the name of Merlin should I trust you?"
I shrugged, she did have a fair point. I didn't have an answer, "Well, If you die, I'll have to dispose of your body, clean up the scene, come up with a story, and live with a secret the rest of my life."
Granger blinked.
I nodded, "You see, the whole situation is too bloody complicated. So let's go..."
Granger thought for a moment. Honestly, I was happy she was even considering it. "Fine. But I swear if you do anything-"
I held up my hands in defense, "I know, I know."
I grinned, "Well come on Granger."
She groaned, "Why am I dreading this already?"
I laughed as we ran out of the portrait.
Fred called after us, saying, "NO SNOGGING! I'M WARNING YOU!"
I laughed, "Only if I'm not lucky!"
Granger turned around, "What did you say?"
She looked sincerely confused.
I laughed, "Nothing, Granger." I smiled. She gave me a skeptical look.
We made it to the grounds of Hogwarts only having to hide. It was rather uncomfortable and a bit awkward, I'll admit. Granger's body was pressed against mine as we hid behind a column of fire. Filch was moving painfully slow.
Granger sighed, "Well that was interesting."
Her face still had a tint of red to it.
"Where are we going, Malfoy?" she asked.
I grinned and motioned for her to follow, "You'll find out." I frowned, "Actually. Close your eyes."
She shook her head, "Oh, no. I'm going to fall and roll down the hill."
I rolled my eyes, "Relax, I'll lead you there."
She frowned but eventually gave in.
She closed her eyes and I took her hand, which she clung to like a life line with both hands. I looked back every once and a while to make sure she wasn't looking. She wasn't.
"Alright. Open your eyes." I said, dropping her hand reluctantly.
She squinted and gasped. "The quidditch pitch..."
I grabbed my broom and nodded, "We're going for a little ride."
Her face went pale, and she gulped, "Uh. As in on the ground?"
I frowned, "Are you a witch or not?"
She shook her head, taking a step back, "I can't. I- I'm terrified of heights."
I frowned, "What witch doesn't like to fly!?"
She raised her hand just like she does in class, "This one!"
"Come on Granger, I brought you all the way here! Without you falling and rolling down the hill!"
She managed a laughed, "I want to watch what you're going to do first."
I sighed and nodded, "Alright."
That wasn't the most unreasonable request.
I got on my broom and flew at least fifty feet in the air, then went straight down, at an incredible speed. I heard her scream, I smirked. I pulled up at the last possible moment. Then, I flew over to Granger, who was standing there, practically frozen in spot.
"I'm not doing that."
I sigh, "Alright, then I'll just fly you around."
She looked at me skeptically. "Malfoy-"
I shrugged. "Come on, Granger."
She sighed and bit her lip, the way she does when she's nervous.
"Fine."
She squeezed her eyes shut and I laughed, "Granger, we aren't even flying yet, you don't need to close your eyes yet."
She sighed and got onto the broom, her arms immediately clinging to my stomach. I chuckled a bit and said, "Granger, maybe a little more room to breathe?"
"Sorry," She whimpered.
I sighed, "Granger, You'll be fine. We're just gliding... unless you tell me to do something else."
She laughed, "Ha! That's funny, Malfoy."
I shrugged and started to move. A strangled scream escaped her and she gripped tighter to me. I grinned.
We didn't go that fast, and after a while, She got used to it and was hanging on less tightly. We did a few laps around the pitch before I said, "We're going higher."
She held on and said, "I'm ready." I flew through the highest hoop and she laughed. I went a bit faster, each minute gaining speed. She seemed alright with it.
"This is what I was looking forward to." I said, turning to face the lake.
She gasped.
It was an amazing view at night. Nothing but the moon to light it up. I flew so that we were on top of the water and she leaned down, running her hand through the water.
She laughed. "This is... amazing!"
I grinned and turned to look at her face, "Is this romantic enough to get a kiss?"
She rolled her eyes, but even in the dark i didn't miss the slight blush and a flash of excitement in her eyes. "I would push you into the water, but I don't know how to fly."
I grinned, "Maybe later."
She tried to speak, but I darted off, so she had to hold on.
We made our way back to the quidditch pitch where I set us both down on the grass.
Granger laughed and said, "That was-"
I smiled, "Awesome."
She smiled, "Magical."
I smirked. "It's amazing that after all of these years at Hogwarts and being a witch, these 'simple' things still mesmerize me!"
I nodded, "It must've been hard living in the muggle world." I said, sitting down.
She frowned, "Not really. Not as convenient, no. But it wasn't hard." She laughed, "In fact, In a way it's been harder to live in the wizard world."
She sat down and I frowned, "What do you mean?"
She laughed, "Every year since i've gotten my Hogwarts letter, I've been involved in the attempted murder of me, Harry, and just about everyone else."
I laughed and scratched my neck uncomfortably. "Yeah..."
She smiled, looking at the moon, "I forgive you, by the way."
I looked at her, "What?"
She nodded, "I forgive you."
I shifted in my seat, "For what, exactly?"
She sighed, "When I was being tortured by your lunatic of an aunt."
My breathing stopped, "And I didn't do anything..." I finished.
She shrugged, "Yes, I guess. I can tell you still regret that." She smiles and turns to me, "Why? I don't know."
I looked into her eyes and saw determination and will power, "I care about you Granger, alright!"
She grinned, "It's about time."
I stuck my tongue out at her.
She scoffed, "Childish."
I rolled my eyes, "You just ruined a beautiful moment, Granger."
She laughed, "Oh I ruined it. I see."
I laughed.
She smirked, "But that's not all I forgive you for."
I frowned, "What do you mean?"
She shrugs, "It's just, I don't hate you anymore-" I grinned. She noticed, "Well, I mean I still hate you but not hate you hate you."
I raised an eyebrow at her, "Granger, you do know that makes no sense, right?"
She slapped my arm playfully. "But I forgive you for everything. Joining Voldemort, choosing the wrong side... making fun of me... calling me mudblood-" I grabbed her hand. I don't know why, I guess I just wanted her to stop.
"Granger, I didn't know what to do. I grew up learning that name, i just thought that's what muggleborns are called. But as soon as I realized it wasn't- it was too late."
She nodded, "And the teasing?"
I shrugged, "Let's just say it was my form of flirting."
She rolled her eyes. "Truth is, I've loved you since I laid eyes on you. It's just- my father. He would never let me love a muggleborn."
She laughed, "How Ironic that I was your soul mate."
I shrugged, "Ironic. Destiny. It's a matter of opinion."
"If we ever do have children, your father is never going to accept them," She frowned, looking at her hands.
I grabbed both her hands and said, "He will. I'll make him. And if there's the slight chance that he doesn't, I'd leave him in seconds for my family."
She smiled.
Genuinely smiled.
She sighed, "Malfoy, does this mean you're in love with me?"
I grinned, "It just so happens that's exactly what it means."
I shifted uncomfortably, "What do you think of me?"
She grinned, "Well, you're annoying, stupid, self centered, cocky- Shall I go on?"
I laughed mockingly at her, "Ha Ha, very funny."
She shrugged, "I thought so."
She smiled and shook her head, "No, but It just so happens... that I love you too." I grinned like a fool. "Does this mean I'm lucky?"
She gave me a confused look, "What?"
I grinned, "Do I get a kiss?"
She scoffed, "Of course."
She leaned in and so did I. Our lips connected and a feeling flooded my body. A feeling of comfort. This felt right. All of these years I've imagined this... none of the fantasies were even close to this.
