Aurelia POV
The second stone caught me above my eyebrow.
I didn't remember falling, only the sudden, disorienting impact of the ground rushing up to meet me, Selina's scream somewhere above the ringing in my ears, and then hands, rough and unfamiliar, pulling at my arms as the crowd surged forward.
"Get back!" Kieran's voice cut through the chaos. "All of you, get back now!"
I don't know how long it took him to reach us. Seconds, probably, though it felt like an eternity had passed by the time his broad frame positioned itself between me and the crowd, his warrior's stance leaving no room for argument.
"Anyone who throws another stone answers directly to me," Kieran snarled, his green eyes sweeping across the gathered wolves with a fury "Is that understood?"
