My heart lurched at Selina's words. "What happened?" I asked, my voice tight with immediate fear. "Is it Helena?"
Selina nodded, tears finally spilling over as she guided me back toward the cabin's interior, both of us settling at the small wooden table while Rowan retreated to give us privacy.
"Her condition has worsened," Selina said, wiping at her eyes with trembling hands. "She's completely bedridden now, Aurelia. She can barely sit up without assistance. The seizures have grown more frequent, more severe."
