Chapter 7 'Victor'

"Where is she?" I yelled. I sent those mutts to do one thing!

"Your brother Sir, he came for her. He knew exactly where we were." Earl explained as he held his bloody wounded friend. I could feel the rage that fucker marked the mate who could have ended my misery once and for all. I am going to kill him for this and take her anyways. She will be mine.

"Gather the brothers." I said before storming out of the hall.

All my life my father loved my brother more, he treated me as If I was a mistake. It was not until he got sick that I knew I had to do something. My brother and all the other pack masters disagreed but we needed to find the Child of the Moon if our species were to survive and to undo all the damage my father caused. I was going to find one of them no matter the cost, that was before my father passed and I was banished. I was wrongly accused of his death by everyone. The Goddess as well. It truthfully has broken me.

I know who harmed my father, I know why I was blamed, and I will not let anyone stand in my way. Not even our Mother Goddess. Samantha was important and she was going to be used by an evil man who stole her and my position. I will save her, I must. I just hope she will accept me once she learns the truth of who Gideon really is. I need the Goddess to help me. But will she?

Jane POV

"Mmhmm" I moaned as a stretched out in bed. "Gideon? Where are you?"

I did not hear any reply, I decided to get up wrap a robe around my body and then I went to find my mate. I could hear low talking from his office, I was about to push the door open until I heard Gideon say,

"She must never find out; do you understand me?"

"Yes Alpha." A man replied

"If he comes for her, He can never see her, she can never see him. Do you understand what will happen? I will lose her, and the pack will be lost. We will all be thrown into banishment for what we have all done. Do you understand Paul?" Gideon said.

I started backing away to our room before hearing anything else. What did he mean? I need to find out. I went dressed and ran out of the house into the woods. I needed to find the Goddess she could help me.

I finally made it to the clearing, Kneeling and begging "Please Mother I need your help." There was nothing. I was desperate so I stayed and kept calling hoping she would answer me. Sometime past, it was dark and cold I was giving up.

"My child." The Goddess said, "I have come, and you leave me?" 

"No Mother, I feared you would not come." I said to her with my head low.

"Come with me Child it is not safe to speak here. The woods have eyes and ears." She said with her hand stretched out. As I took her hand a began following her, I heard him call for me.

"Jane!!!! Where have you gone???" I wanted to turn towards Gideon letting him know I was okay; I would be okay.

"No Child, if you wish to know the truth you must come with me now." The Moon Goddess said sternly.

I Turned and followed leaving Gideon's cries behind me. I need to know.

Her realm was stunning, glow bugs everywhere, large red trees and Ferns as big as a child.

"Now my Child, I will show you the truth of your intendeds past. You must not judge until you see all of this do you understand?" She asked me as she stood near a pool of crystal-clear water.

"Yes, Mother I understand." I replied.

"Good, now knee and look into the waters, do not fight the memories, relax your soul and mind let them hold you." She explained before memories came flooding into my mind.

I did as she said I took a deep breath and let them in, it was of Gideon as a child, his father and another boy. But the other boy was always being pushed into the back as Gideon and his father played. It was Victor as a child. 

"Son you know what you must do to rule." His father said

"Yes Father, I will not let victor succeeded you. I swear it." Gideon replied.

"Good, you must be the one to find the last Moon Child, she will be what holds to firmly in place. If victor finds her first, he will be able to change all of what I have made back into the old way of the Mother. We cannot let that happen. She must not win. She has stolen from me and I will take from her in return." His father said with rage coating his whole being.

"I understand father." Gideon said with a smile.

I stared falling, all I could see if flashing lights. Abruptly I stopped I was looking at a handsome tall man, his eyes were grey like a stormy night they were intoxicating.

"You are banished Victor son of Garth; you will no longer be welcome into my kingdom." The moon goddess said but her face looked pained.

"Please Mother I have not committed this crime. I have a destiny I need to fulfill for you, for our species please." Victor pleaded.

"I am sorry Victor; you have been charged with the crime of killing your father. This is your destiny now." She said as her head dropped, and then she was gone.

"See brother, you will never be Alpha you will never find your true Mate, you will be alone for the rest of your life and I will have all that you were meant to have." Gideon said with an evil smile.

"Please brother, take the pack, take anything. But don’t take her." Victor pleaded with tears streaming down his face.

"Oh no Brother, I will take her. I will make her mine and I will make her fall in love with me that way the day you see her, she will look at you with hate." Gideon said with a heavy laugh.

"That is where you are wrong Gideon, I may have banished him, as you forced me. But I will not allow you to do this, I will give my last true child the gift of sight. Once she sees you for who you are you will lose her, and your plan will never come to pass. You will be alone." The Moon Goddess said from the mist.

Everything went black, I could feel myself falling but I could not see where.

"Do you see now my Child?" I heard her soft voice say as I opened my eyes to her Eden.

"I see Mother, but I do not understand what this all means. Why would he be so cruel?" I asked

"Because he is cruel like his father child. His mother passed away years ago. When I went to collect her spirt her husband saw me and convinced himself I took her life, and I took her from him. So he started turning all the wolves against me stealing the light crystals from my valleys, the only thing that stands between me losing my hold to your world and all of my children is you and your true intended mate. But he will not make your journey easy." Mother said with a sad look.

"I need to go back mother. I need to think please." I said as I stood in front of her.

"Of course, my child. Please use your sight and stay safe. Call for me if I am needed." She said with a soft smile.

Once I was back in the valley alone, I started towards home. What does she mean my true indented? Why did the memories show Gideon so cruelly? I do not understand any of this.

"I thought she would never bring you back." Gideon said coming from the dark wood line, He looked so angry.

"How did you know where I was?" I said with a soft smile

"I marked you, I know where you are at all times." He said as he stocked towards me. "What were you two speaking about?"

"She was showing me Victors story." I said as I looked down at my hands, I heard a loud incredibly angry growl and then I was being dragged by my arm through the woods towards our home. "Please your hurting me." I said as I tried freeing my arm from his grasp. He made no move to let go, once we were inside, he led me to our room pushing me inside and slamming the door. He turned the dead bolt and locked the door.

"What did she show you?" He boomed as he hovered over me.

"She just showed me you as children, and after your father passed." I said with a shaky voice.

"Mmhmm, you are mine. You will never be his do you understand me Jane? What else did she tell you?" He asked with black emotionless eyes.

"Yes. Nothing else" I said I knew I shouldn’t have lied to him, but something wasn’t sitting right with me. "Do you love me? Genuinely love me Gideon?"

He started laughing heavily "No. I enjoy you in bed and tolerate your presence but when we are in front of the pack and other Alphas we will look madly in love. You will not leave this room; I will have food brought to you." 

"Why did you say you loved me if you do not? I do not understand why you are treating me so coldly with in the last 24 hours." I said with a stern face.

SMACK! I saw little black dots floating around and then pain shooting through my head. Gideon bent down and grabbed a fist full of my hair pulling my head back, so I was looking up at him. "You do not question me. I am master you are my slave." he said with a sly smile on his face.

He left me laying on the floor, what has happened?

"Mother please I need you." I said before the dark consumed me.
