The little girl is missing

Lin Hao opened the trunk, revealing a woman curled up inside. Her hair was beautiful, but her forehead was covered in sweat, perhaps from the stuffiness of the trunk. Having just picked up a piece of rope from the shop but forgetting to get a pen and paper, Lin Hao found himself in a bit of a predicament. How were they going to communicate now? "Who are you? What do you want?" the woman in the trunk demanded before Lin Hao could say a word. Lin Hao was instantly annoyed. Clearly, she had attacked him first, yet now she was the one asking questions. Unable to speak, Lin Hao could only gesticulate wildly and emit growls, unleashing the intimidating presence of a Level 2 zombie. Other zombies passing by felt this oppressive aura and quickly changed their course. Sparrow watched his gestures intently, frowning in thought for a long while before saying, "What are you trying to say? I can't understand any of it." Lin Hao took a deep breath and, without thinking, shut the trunk again. Sparrow struggled inside but dared not shout, fearing that the noise might attract other zombies, which would be disastrous. As dawn approached, the first light of day broke, and the sun's harmful UV rays once again bathed the earth. Experienced zombies began hiding, unwilling to expose themselves to the sunlight. In the distance, the occasional scream of terrified humans could be heard. When food appeared under the sun, zombies would flock to it, despite their aversion to UV rays. Would you grab a ten-thousand-pound note from a pile of dung? I certainly would. When Lin Hao returned to the chemistry lab with a backpack full of snacks, he found the lab door open. Not only was it open, but a group of zombies was crowding the entrance. Lin Hao felt a buzzing in his head and rushed into the lab. The zombies blocking his way met a grim fate. With each punch and kick, zombies fell dead or maimed around him. The pressure he emitted as a Level 2 zombie conveyed his rage, causing the others to stand still in terror, not daring to move. When Lin Hao reached the spot where the little girl had been sleeping, he was frantic—she was gone. He recalled her timid face, remembered rescuing her from a powerful zombie, and thought of how much she resembled his sister. The idea of her being gone in just a moment’s distraction was unbearable. Turning to the cowering zombies, Lin Hao, though furious and anxious, forced himself to remain calm. First, there was no blood on the ground, and no sign of a struggle. This meant the girl hadn't been harmed here. So, where could she be? Lin Hao thought of the bathroom. Even in such dire circumstances, a girl might risk seeking a clean place. He rushed to the bathroom, searched both the men's and women's sections, but found no trace of her. Growing more desperate, he searched the entire lab, even finding a hidden survivor in one spot. Opening the door, he initially mistook the people inside for Wang Wei and Wei Xuehan. But on closer inspection, he realized they were not. He was about to let them go when he saw what they were holding. These two survivors, a man and a woman, were startled to see him. The man, instead of resisting, desperately pushed the woman forward. Lin Hao’s anger wasn't due to this cowardice but to the blood on their mouths, the bitten arm in the woman's hand, and the arm in the man's hand. The source of these arms was a third person in the room, a woman whose face was unrecognizable, covered in blood. She had clearly been bludgeoned to death, and her missing arms matched those in the survivors' hands. The woman dropped the arm and tried to fight back but was swiftly kicked into silence by Lin Hao. The man cowered on the ground, waving the arm and muttering, "Don't eat me, don't eat me!" Lin Hao had no desire to bite them himself. People like this were filthy. With a roar, Lin Hao summoned all the zombies in the building. He left without looking back, ignoring the man’s desperate screams for help. When the screams finally ceased, Lin Hao sighed deeply. Where would a little girl go without anyone to look after her? Lin Hao thought of the woman who had captured him. When Sparrow opened the trunk, the noise attracted two zombies. Seeing a living human, they charged at her. Sparrow quickly drew a knife from her boot and easily dispatched them, checking them with a small device. "No energy crystals detected," she reported into her chest-mounted microphone. "Sparrow, I heard you got caught by a zombie," a mocking voice came through the mic. "None of your business, Eagle. Just do your job," Sparrow replied, her face darkening. "I finished my job ages ago. Too bad I didn’t find a mutant zombie at the site, but I did catch a little girl." A child's cries reached Sparrow's ears from the other end of the line. Sparrow said nothing more, as a pale man with blood-red eyes appeared five meters away from her. "Not you again?" she exclaimed, reaching for her rifle. But before she could draw it, she felt a sharp pain in her head and lost consciousness. "Controlling humans is impossible," Lin Hao thought in frustration. "Humans have complex minds, different from zombies. With your current mental power, you can't control them," Dog Egg explained. With a black backpack slung over his shoulder, Lin Hao approached Sparrow and lifted her easily. "Control or not, I've got the information I need. I'll make her talk," Lin Hao thought, glaring at Sparrow with a menacing intensity.
